President's Message:
Time to recharge and plan for the future

By Dawn Elliott
BMES President

As summer passes (way too quickly), I like to take time to reflect, reset priorities, and plan for the future. Vacations and the slower days of summer are a great time to evaluate and energize.

Here at BMES the leadership team is busy re-imagining what our society might look like in the future. The ultimate goal for the society is to advance the profession of biomedical engineering by supporting our members and the important work you are doing.

As you take a time to consider your priorities, please take a few moments to imagine what the future of your BMES society might be and drop me an email at ( to share your thoughts. The board of directors will consider your ideas as we develop our strategy in the coming year. Enjoy your summer and I will see you in Philadelphia this October for the 2019 Annual Meeting!
