Online registration for 
BMES Annual Meeting Expires OCTOBER 2

We are just weeks away from the 2019 BMES Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. Make sure you register for the meeting before October 2 when online registration closes. Registering online is less expensive than registering onsite. 


A great slate of keynote talks will occur everyday at the meeting. Speakers include: Christopher Chen, Steven D. Abramowitch, Rebecca Richards-Kortum, Bruce Levine, Celeste M. Nelson, James Dahlman and more.

John White elected president of BMES

John White - Professor and Chair of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University - was elected president of the Biomedical Engineering Society recently. 

Shelly Sakiyama-Elbert - Chair of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin - was selected to be the Society's new treasurer. 

White and Sakiyama-Elbert are joined by four new members of BMES's board of directors.

2019 BMES award winners demonstrate the best in BME

Annually, the Biomedical Engineering Society recognizes individuals for their accomplishments, significant contributions and service to the Society and the field of biomedical engineering. 

The Society is proud to announce its 2019 award recipients.

The award recipients will be recognized and deliver plenary lectures during the BMES Annual Meeting held October 16-19, in Philadelphia.

Congratulations to the 2019 class of BME Fellows

The 2019 class of BMES fellows includes 15 of the top researchers and supportive members of the Society.

BMES Fellow status is a distinguished honor awarded to members with outstanding qualifications and experience, who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of biomedical engineering. Recipients have also maintained a consistent record of membership and participation within the Society.
 
"The BMES designation of fellow is an honor given to the most accomplished leaders in the BME field," said K. Jane Grande-Allen, chair of the BMES Fellows Committee.
