April Family
Involvement Series

The April issue of our Family Involvement Series is full of suggestions for improving communication and the importance of making mistakes. Nurse Durden discusses suggestions on how to communicate with your child openly. Mrs. Oates shares cell phone safety tips. Mrs. Rogers and Ms. Tatum discuss allowing your child to make mistakes.
School Council 2021 - 2022

The BMS School Council needs a parent to serve on the 2021-2022 council for a two-year commitment. The School Council is an advisory board sharing information regarding the school and any concerns from our community. If elected, you will serve as a community liaison. If you are interested in serving as one of the parent representatives, please complete this form by Friday, Apr 16. Voting for parent representatives will take place on Apr 22. Details will be announced regarding the voting process.
Travel outside the Country

As you are making spring break plans, please remember that if you leave the country, you must quarantine after you return. See this link for details and send an email to Mrs. Hodge if your travel will be out of the country.
Morning Car Riders

There are no issues with students being dropped off and in class on time when parents are in the car rider line between 7:00 and 7:15. Thank you to those of you who take advantage of this window of time to get your students to school.

In an effort to make the back drop off line run quicker, we will be unloading cars in 2 lanes once the buses are completely clear.

To help with the flow of the front of the building, the turn will be moved one row down for exiting through the parking lot.

Please see this map for changes and thank you for your input.
We will begin these changes on Monday, April 12th, so please get to school early and pay close attention to the directions of our staff as they work to get our students into the building as safely and efficiently as possible.
Awards

We will pull grades for awards purposes only on Friday, May 14th. Grades will continue to count toward the report card until the last day of school and can be seen in PowerSchool, but for A-Honor Roll, A-Average Honor Roll, and Super Wolves, the grades end on Friday, May 14th.
Help Replenishing Supplies

With the spring flowers comes pollen! Our teachers are running low on facial tissue and paper towels. If you are able, please help our teachers replenish these items.
BCSS Art Show

The BCSS Art Show was on Mar 21 and featured over 30 of our artistically talented BMS students' work, from oil pastels and markers to pencil drawings and paintings.

Congratulations to Sophia for winning first place and Juana for placing second.
BMS Car Show Fundraiser

The 7th-grade team would like to invite you to the inaugural BMS Car Show Fundraiser benefiting our middle school at the Buford City Arena on May 15. The show is from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and we hope to have many different vehicles, a few food trucks, some awesome silent auction prizes, and several vendors there for everyone to enjoy. For more information, you can click on the attached flyer or check out the FaceBook event page.

In order to make this event a success, we wanted to reach out to see if you know of anyone who may be interested in donating a silent auction item or becoming a vendor. If so, please reach out to Lauren Larson to receive additional details.

If you have any questions, please call the school and ask to speak to Cherie Durden, RN, School Nurse. Please turn in any updated immunization forms to the front office.
