Could Automation Enhancements Solve Trucking's Workforce Gap?
In the past few weeks, trucking has gained a surprisingly high-tech appeal, thanks to one of Silicon Valley's buzziest companies.
Tesla has announced a semitruck built with the same technologies as its high-powered vehicles. The trucks rely on batteries (rather than diesel fuel) and feature semi-autonomous capabilities, and the announcement has made serious waves in the industry, with some major companies signing on to purchase the trucks in recent weeks. Just this week, Anheuser-Busch InBev pre-ordered a fleet of 40.

BlueTarp Issues Building Supply Index for Third Quarter 2017
Report Highlights
In the third quarter of 2017, contractor sentiment saw its first notable dip when looking ahead at the next 12 months. 11.7 percent fewer contractors had a favorable outlook when compared to Q2 2017.

BlueTarp's Building Supply Index is a quarterly measure of the economic health of the building supply industry. The Index is a weighted composite of proprietary BlueTarp spending and delinquency data, as well as three macro-economic factors: building permits, construction spend and consumer confidence.

BlueTarp's spending and deliquency data offers a unique cross-section of the industry, representing trends from experience with 120,000 pro customers at more than 2,000 suppliers across the United States, including hardware stores, lumber yards, building material suppliers, flooring and plumbing/HVAC.
