Bring your lunch to 60 Turner Street and listen to virtuoso bassist James Heazlewood-Dale and friends perform during the lunch hour. All members welcome!
Socializing begins at 12:30pm with performance and discussion from 1pm to 2pm.

Snow day policy
BOLLI closes anytime Brandeis University campus is closed and may also decide to close 60 Turner Street out of weather-related safety concerns even if Brandeis University does not close its campus. An email from the BOLLI office will be sent by 7:30 a.m. at the very latest of the day in question. A closure message will be recorded on the office phone at 781-736-2992 and left in an out-of-office message on staff emails. It is the member's responsibility to check email before departing for 60 Turner Street. Safety is our paramount concern.

Make A Difference
Tuesday, December 5, 2023, 4-5 pm on Zoom
We will focus on three topics: (1) High school voter registration action
for the 2024 presidential election, (2) Climate change and relevant action, and (3) Results of the Nov. 7th elections.
Based on research showing that people ages 18-30 are the largest
unregistered demographic today, we will follow up on Vicki Shapiro's inspiring
presentation last month on high school students. Specifically, we will consider aspects of The Civics Center Tool Kit to help register high school
students in swing states as well as in Massachusetts. In addition, we'll discuss themes and possible outcomes of the current United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Finally, we’ll discuss results of the November 7th elections and celebrate our involvement.

New Yorker Fiction Salon

Aging with Resilience and Enthusiasm

Tour of Developing Boston: Berenice Abbott & Irene Shwachman Photograph a Changing City, at the Boston Athenaeum
Monday, December 4 at 11am
The Arts & Cultural Excursions SIG in partnership with the BOLLI Photo Group have arranged a 1-hour guided tour of a temporary exhibit of two photographers capturing the developing landscape of Boston during the mid-20th century. The photographic survey considers Boston’s past, present, and future. A display of teen photographs from Artists for Humanity shows Boston’s continued redevelopment in the 21st century. Huntington Theater - The Band's Visit
Saturday, December 9 at 2:30 pm
A Tony Award-winning musical of an Egyptian band stranded in a small Israeli town with no lodging available. The locals take them in for the night, and surprising connections and friendships are forged over moments of shared humanity and love of music. 90 minutes with no intermission. A Tour of Boch Center Wang Theatre
Monday, December 11 at 11 AM
Join a 1-hour guided tour of this historic building. We will visit the opening of the Music Hall of the new Folk Americana Hall of Fame with its current exhibit of memorabilia of music legend, Bruce Springsteen. Next we will see Alan Lequire’s seven sculptures of artists closely connected to the Civil Rights Movement. Click here for more information, including details about public transportation and parking. Tour of the Citizen’s Bank OPERA HOUSE

This one-hour tour will include historical information about this building, including its murals.
