Invite a Friend Program: Winter Memberships 

Do you have a friend who would like to join BOLLI for the winter? In these times friends need to stick together. BOLLI is offering a week-long Trial Membership that allows a new member to attend Gil Harel’s lectures on “Music as Theater: From Verdi to Sondheim” the week of December 14.

BOLLI is also offering a $177.50 Winter Membership, which includes all BOLLI has to offer this winter including lecture courses, lunchtime speakers and special interest groups. This membership runs from December 1, 2020 - February 28, 20201.

Distinguished Speaker Series
Dr. Tony Schwartz, Emeritus Associate Dean, Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine
Friday, November 20 from 1pm to 2pm

“Mountain Gorillas v. The Pygmies in Uganda”

Tony’s stunning photographs record the tensions between endangered animals and traditional African lifestyles, and track wildlife from Vermont to Antarctica and Tibet to Morocco. He is a superb photographer and his work has been featured in many juried exhibitions and published in three photobooks.  A veterinary surgeon and immunologist, Tony chaired the surgery department and was an associate dean at Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine until his retirement in 2005.

"Boston Burning: How the Cocoanut Grove Fire Changed Fire Laws and Medical Procedures"

Aline knows Boston inside and out as a docent for Boston by Foot, leading historical and architectural walking tours of Beacon Hill and Back Bay.  Join us as Aline describes the one night in Boston, November 28, 1942, when a deadly fire in the premier nightclub in post-Prohibition Boston, claimed the lives of almost 500 people, and led to major changes in fire laws, safety standards, and the treatment and rehabilitation of burn victims

CAST: Creative Acting, Storytelling and Theater

CAST is a group of people interested in the theater. We sometimes meet for theater games and activities, and at other times for scene study. This term, we've already begun work on preparing scenes from A.R. Gurney's "The Dining Room."

Make a Difference

Our meeting will focus on analyzing the results and our contributions to this historic election. We will consider our next steps going forward. 

Make A Difference is actively involved in current social and political action. We meet once a month for a lively discussion of a work of contemporary literary fiction. We are a “drop-in” group: All BOLLI members are invited to join us every month or once in a while, no registration required.
