EVENTS

BOMA Metro Detroit Members,

Thank you for being a member of the most powerful Commercial Real Estate network in the region. Did you know that BOMA members right here in Michigan manage or service more than 210 million square feet of office or industrial space? The impact of our membership includes employees and tenants totaling more than 1.25 million people that in turn contribute $3.4 Billion to the state economy each year. You are an incredibly important part of BOMA and I am thankful for your membership.

BOMA Metro Detroit 2025 is shaping up to be a year like no other. Coming off of a magical night celebrating our award-winning members at the elegant ELEVATE, (see the video on BOMADet.org), we jumped right into an eye-opening Joint Economic Forum in January with the Oz of the industry, Mr. Spencer Levy. On Sunday, February 9 BOMA leaders Trevor Duke and Brian Salliotte brought Commercial Real Estate to the public as featured guests of Charlie Langton on Fox 2 TV Detroit. We have also hosted two more BOMA TALKS this year featuring some fantastic members (see YouTube for the video replays). And right now, we are preparing for the SOLD OUT March 13 Cornhole Crazy Tournament.  The MEGA EDUCATION PROJECT is an opportunity to quench your thirst for knowledge as you gain certified ConEd's in person and virtually. The PROJECT kicks off on April 11 and concludes on May 8. Look out because we are bringing the Circus to town on May 2 at the annual Trade Fair at Eastern Market. On June 16, we tee off the Spring Classic Golf Outing followed by the second annual Boat outing on August 6, the Autumn Open on September 22, and the Sporting Clay Shoot on October 17. And so much more yet to be announced!  Follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook for regular announcements or check in at www.BOMADet.org for up-to-date information.

Helping you build your business is a large part of what we do as a professional trade association but, as many of you know, we also fulfill a role in providing valuable education. Our Building Owners and Managers Institute, (BOMI), courses are the gateway to Designations as Real Property Administrator, Facilities Management Administrator, Systems Maintenance Technician, Hi Performance Sustainable Building Management and Building Systems Administrator. And Certifications in Property Administration, Property Financial Proficiency, Facilities Management, Building Systems Maintenance, and Building energy Certificate. A list of courses offered will be posted on the website.

Another important activity that we are constantly engaged in is in the area of advocacy. This plays out at the local and state legislative levels through our very capable Government Affairs Committee. The committee is wrapping up a local survey to capture the issues that concern our members the most. You will soon receive this survey and we ask that you take a few minutes and let us know what you think.

Thank you to all of our 2025 Sponsor Partners. If you are not yet a Partner, I encourage you to take a good look at what the Sponsor Partner Program is all about right away as it will close on February 28. Contact me for more information.

BOMA Metro Detroit is growing in every measurable way and I thank you for being an integral part of our mutual success. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with your ideas or critiques. We are always yearning to improve in all aspects of what we do.

Sincerely,

Rick R. Troy
