SOUTH COAST AQMD ADOPTS RULE - PAVES WAY FOR CRIPPLING FEES AND REGULATIONS FOR LOCAL WAREHOUSES
The South Coast AQMD Governing Board recently adopted Rule 2305 otherwise known as the Warehouse Indirect Source Rule (ISR). The rule was passed on a 9-4 vote after a daylong hearing. The rule requires warehouses greater than 100,000 square feet to directly reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) and diesel particulate matter (PM) emissions, or to otherwise facilitate emission and exposure reductions of these pollutants in nearby communities.

In short, we believe this adopted rule has been implemented as a funding mechanism as opposed to any true environmental benefits to the industry. Click here to learn more about the ISR Task Force against 2305 and how you can TAKE ACTION.
THE EFFECTS OF GOVERNMENT-MANDATED PREMIUM PAY
City and county officials across California are proposing ordinances to force government-mandated premium pay on retailers, neighborhood grocery stores and pharmacies – without considering the full impact on jobs and the cost of living. These government mandates are spreading rapidly throughout the state. Already, multiple Orange County cities have passed premium pay mandates that are counterproductive for workers, consumers and our communities.

BOMA OC PARTNERS WITH SOUTH COUNTY OUTREACH
The Philanthropy committee teamed up with South County Outreach this month for a two-week food drive. Over 20 locations volunteered to place bins on their property where people could donate canned goods, dry foods, and other nonperishable foods.
From May 10 to May 21, South County Outreach bins were proudly displayed all over the county to help fight hunger and homelessness. South County Outreach reports 40% of seniors skip a meal due to lack of food, and children make up 43% of their clients.

Thank you, BOMA OC’s Philanthropy Committee for your dedication and hard work to these wonderful and much-needed causes!

A TOUCHLESS TRANSFORMATION? FROM EASE OF MOTION TO DATA RICH TECHNOLOGY, TOUCHLESS ENTRY IS A POINT OF DIFFERENCE TENANTS ARE SEEKING.
As we return to the office, tenants are entering a very different environment from whence they left in 2020.

Enhanced safety protocols and cleaning measures are just the beginning. Now what? Renewal rates are based on post-pandemic updates, with 66% of tenants likely to renew if operational changes are inputted.

Automotive and Aviation industries have used it for years, now touchless entry is coming to the commercial office space.
