The Community Arts Grant produced by BOPA supports community-artist collaborative design & implementation of new, exterior wall mural projects sited in underserved communities of Baltimore City. OPPORTUNITY FOR ART LOVERS
Become a Volunteer Gallery Guide
The Baltimore City Arts Council is looking for contemporary art enthusiasts to serve as Volunteer/Gallery Guides at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower and the Top of the World Observation Level. Volunteer/Gallery Guides provide superior front-line service to all visitors by welcoming them to the facility and providing information on exhibitions displayed throughout the building.

Volunteer/Gallery Guides are scheduled for 4-hour shifts during the facilities' weekend operating hours. Interested applicants must be 18 years or older and fluent in English (Spanish a plus). YOUTHWORKS DEADLINE IS EXTENDED!
Summer Employment for Baltimore City Youth
YouthWorks 2022 will operate a five-week summer program for youth from July 5–August 5, five hours per day, five days per week, totaling 25 hours per week. YouthWorkers will be introduced to workplace experiences, financial literacy development, career exploration opportunities, and skills training. All Baltimore City youth ages 14–21 (by July 1, 2022) are eligible to apply. Click below for details and the application. The new deadline is Thursday, April 14, 2022.
NATIONAL POETRY MONTH WORKSHOP
Virtual Seminar With Maryland's Poet Laureate
Join Maryland's Poet Laureate Grace Cavalieri on Tuesday, April 19, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. for an online interactive writing session where participants will learn tools to mine experiences and find outlets for expression and growth. The session will begin with the basic principles of poetry, then Cavalieri will lead participants through a short writing exercise. This virtual event is free to attend. VOLUNTEER AT THE MARYLAND FILM FEST
And Enjoy Free Film Screenings
Come join filmmakers and film lovers alike this year and become a volunteer at the Maryland Film Festival! This year’s festival will take place Wednesday, April 27–Sunday, May 1, 2022. Volunteers will receive a limited edition t-shirt, free tickets, and they're also invited to a free special “Volunteers Only” film screening, held shortly after the festival, of one of the most popular films of MdFF 2022. For details and the volunteer application, click below.
POLLOCK-KRASNER FOUNDATION GRANT
Up to $30,000 of Funding for Visual Artists
Throughout the year, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation welcomes applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors, and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. There are no deadlines. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time in amounts that range up to $30,000.

Artists can apply to The Pollock-Krasner Foundation by submitting an online application. Requirements for consideration are the application form, a cover letter, a current resume including an exhibition record, and 10 digital images of current work with a corresponding identification list. OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH ARTISTS
History Through Art Youth Contest
The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) invites Baltimore City youth to participate in the 3rd Annual History Through Arts Competition. The expectation is that the artwork will reflect Baltimore’s historic people, places, significant architecture, or represent a historical event.

BNHA will host a summer exhibit showcasing this artwork in collaboration with the Downtown Partnership. The contest is open to Baltimore youth ages 9–18. Submissions can take the form of photography and works on paper. The deadline is Thursday, June 30, 2022. Click below to submit.

American Craft Council Accepts Artist Applications
American Craft Made is a series of marketplace events produced by the American Craft Council (ACC), a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting craft and its artists. ACC's two marketplace events in Baltimore and St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as the Online Artists Directory are now open to artists from across the country. The deadline to apply for the online marketplace and the live 2022 St. Paul show is Sunday, May 1, 2022. The deadline to apply for the in-person 2023 Baltimore show is Friday, July 15, 2022. The Professional Development Opportunity Grant offered by the Maryland State Arts Council assists artists and arts organizations to implement best practices by embracing growth, learning, and discovery for economic sustainability.
