The Communities Thrive Organizational Project Grant supports small and mid-sized arts organizations in the production & presentation of artistic works accessible to the general public within the City of Baltimore. The grant supports the production of projects in many disciplines, including performing arts, media arts, visual arts, literary arts, and online arts projects. The Communities Thrive Organizational Project Grant is made possible with the support of the Maryland State Arts Council. The deadline has been extended to May 20, 2022. REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
BOPA Seeks to Commission a Muralist
|
|
In a commitment to include works of art in construction projects, BOPA is excited to announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from Baltimore-based artists to create an original artwork in BOPA’s new office space.
The selected artist will receive a $200 commission to create two design concepts for review. Upon successful completion of design revision work, the selected artist will receive $3,200 to implement the finalized design in the form of a painted mural in BOPA’s office space at 7 St. Paul Street in Baltimore.

VIRTUAL LISTENING SESSION
Soliciting Feedback From the Arts Community

We invite Baltimore artists to a multidisciplinary community listening session on May 25, 2022, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. on Zoom. This will be an opportunity to share insights and perspectives about your needs and what opportunities exist (or should exist) for local creatives, nonprofits, and corporate stakeholders to collaborate in visual and performing arts communities.

Become a BOPA Volunteer Gallery Guide
|
|
The Baltimore City Arts Council is looking for contemporary art enthusiasts to serve as Volunteer/Gallery Guides at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower and the Gallery in the Sky at the Top of the World Observation Level. On May 12, Lauren R. Lyde opens her show, "The View from Here," at Top of the World, and on June 9, three new exhibitions open at the Bromo Arts Tower.
Volunteer/Gallery Guides welcome guests to the facility and provide information on exhibitions displayed throughout the space. They are scheduled for 4-hour shifts during weekend operating hours. Interested applicants must be 18+ and fluent in English (Spanish a plus). The Arts Council will also consider students between the ages of 16–18 seeking community service hours. APPLY FOR THE HOPPER PRIZE
Grants for Visual Artists
|
|
|
In this grant cycle for the Hopper Prize, grants of $3,500 will be awarded to two artists, and $1,000 will be awarded to four artists. Hopper curators will also select a short list of 60 artists to have their work archived alongside grant winners. Any artist 18+ can apply. There is a $40 application fee. ARTIST RESIDENCY IN KALAMAZOO
Spend Fall in in Prairie Ronde
|
|
The Prairie Ronde Artist Residency is located near Kalamazoo in historic Vicksburg, Michigan. It provides access to the 420,000-square-foot former Lee Paper Company paper mill and its adjacent eighty acres of property. Applications for fall residencies, which will be held September 15 through December 15, 2022.
The artist residency program supports visual artists, writers, video/filmmakers, and musicians with a $2,000 stipend for a residency of between four and seven weeks, a $500 travel grant, and private use of a car. Artists are asked to give back to the community (ex. a workshop, final show, or open studio days) and to donate a piece of work to the Prairie Ronde collection.

THE ART OF TRANSLATION
Grants for Translated International Literature
|
|
The PEN/Heim Translation Fund was established in the summer of 2003 to promote the publication and reception of translated international literature in English. Over the 16 years of its existence, the Fund has given grants of $2,000–$4,000 to fund nearly 200 English translations.
Among the 108 projects awarded grants in the Fund’s first 13 years of operation (2004–2016), 91 (nearly 70%) have thus far been published or are forthcoming from a publisher. In addition to being excerpted and favorably reviewed in a host of prestigious literary magazines, about 20% of the published projects have won or been shortlisted for major literary awards.

ARTIST RESIDENCY IN THE BAY AREA
At the Headlands Center for the Arts
|
|
The Headlands Center for the Arts campus comprises a cluster of artist-rehabilitated military buildings just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Applications for residencies that will take place in 2023 are now open.
The Artist in Residence (AIR) program awards fully sponsored residencies to approximately 50 local, national, and international artists each year. Residencies of four–10 weeks include studio space, chef-prepared meals, housing, travel, and living expenses. Applications are due June 6, 2022, and must be submitted via SlideRoom. 2023 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Music
|
|
The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise support emerging to mid-career immigrant professionals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements early in their careers. The Vilcek Foundation will award three Creative Promise Prizes of $50,000 each to young, immigrant musicians who demonstrate outstanding early achievement in music. ARTIST RESIDENCY IN LAS VEGAS
With a Culminating Exhibition at The Neon Museum

|
The Neon Museum in Las Vegas is now accepting submissions for its 2022 Artist Residency. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. PST on June 17, 2022.
The selected artist will have the opportunity to develop a new body of work inspired by the museum’s historic sign collection and the broader cultural context of the spectacular city of Las Vegas. A community engagement project is an integral aspect of the residency, along with a culminating exhibition.

GRANTS FOR LIVE MUSIC

|
The Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation partners with communities to activate underused outdoor spaces and bring people together with free, live music.
Levitt AMP grantees are U.S.-based nonprofits that receive three-year matching grants of $30,000 per year, for a total grant award of $90,000 to present the Levitt AMP Music Series: 10 free concerts that inject new life into underused public spaces, creating joyous, inclusive community destinations in small to mid-sized towns and cities. ADOBE'S ARTIST DEVELOPMENT FUND
Get Paid to Create Stock Content
|

Adobe created the Artist Development Fund to support and promote artists identifying with underrepresented communities and provide a platform to showcase and celebrate their independent, empowered, and creative forms of visual expression. This content will be part of the Adobe Stock collection to help with truthful representation in the stock and media industry.
The fund provides a flat amount of $7,500 per selected artist, who will deliver one of the three content options. The project production time will be two months. Selected artists will receive 50% upfront funds and the remaining 50% will be paid after submission and acceptance of work by Adobe.
