REV Update

Revolution Ride, Roll & Stroll on May 12

Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on March 23-24. Six teams from around the state competing at James Kenny Community Center. Game play starts at 9:00 AM C'mon down!

House Parties Update

We had another excellent gathering of BORP enthusiasts took place at Board Member Dorene Giacopini and Steve Wilson's home. We're doing one last "House Party" before the REV. This will be a Virtual House Party happening online March 28th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

AXIS Dance is holding their 2024 Summer Intensive for disabled, non-disabled and neurodiverse dancers and educators from this June 24th - 28th at UCB Dept. of Theater, Dance & Performance Studies.

Ability First Sports is back to our traditional camp experience in 2024! Explore your abilities through expert coaching and recreational activities. Located in Chico, CA camp is from June 16-22, 2024. Adapted sports include: Archery, Basketball, Cycling, Rugby, Tennis, Waterskiing, Boccia, Goalball. Leisure, recreation, & learning activities include: Game night, Karaoke, Life skill discussions, Rugby game night. All ages are welcome to attend. Youth and adult participants have separate dorms. Adult admittance is limited with guidelines. Camp is for people with physical disabilities who can benefit from beginner to advanced level adapted and wheelchair sports instruction. Camp registration is $1,500. We are hosting multiple fundraising tutorials, scholarships and working with families closely to ensure every participant can join. Local Author, Retired SCI Nurse Practitioner and BORP Supporter Barbara Ridley has a new work of fiction, Unswerving, published this month by University of Wisconsin Press.

The story is informed by her professional experience with input from BORP staff Bonnie Lewkowicz and Cynthia Noonan. CLICK HERE for her website with more info, including a book reading at Books Inc in Berkeley on April 18th.
