The checks are in the mail and the SMART Funds have been distributed to the youth accounts. The winners have been declared in the Open Championships, the Women’s Championships, the Youth Championships, as well as the State Pepsi and State Spring Handicap Singles Tournament. Let’s call the 2023-24 Ohio State USBC Tournament Season a success! Congratulations to all the winners!


The Buckeye All Events Championship Tournament was held on Saturday, June 3rd at HP Lanes in Columbus with 86 Local Association All Events Champions competing for the State Title of 2023 Buckeye All Events Champion. Winners were declared in four categories:

Ohio State USBC Women’s Handicap Champion: Diana Yoho – Woodsfield USBC - 992

Ohio State USBC Women’s Actual Championship: Andrea Behr – Gr. Dayton USBC - 934

Ohio State USBC Open Handicap Championship: Kevin McCoy – Jackson County USBC -1004

Ohio State USBC Actual Championship: James Cheff – Gr. Youngstown USBC - 1019


With the 23-24 season ending, it’s time to start planning for the 2023-24 season and the first event of the season is the Ohio State USBC Jamboree, which will be held in Van Wert on September 23rd and 24th. Bowling will be at Olympic Lanes and the Dinner and Breakfast/Workshop will be at the Van Wert Elks Club. Entries will be available soon.


An exciting NEW Tournament will be offered this year by the Ohio Bowling Alliance. It is an Adult/Youth Handicap Event with two divisions: Adult/Youth 12 years of age and younger and Adult/Teen with youth bowlers 13-17. An optional scratch division will also be offered. Prize money will be 100% awarded in scholarship dollars. The tournament will be held October 7-8 and October 14-15 at LeElla Lanes in Washington Court House. Entry fee is $50.00/team. Be on the look-out for these entries soon.


Please Save The Date – Saturday, May 18 will be the date of the 6th Ohio State USBC Annual Meeting. We are returning to the third weekend in May and will be at a new facility: the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio. More details will be shared in the future, but we wanted to give everyone a “heads-up” to get this on your calendars.

Ohio State USBC Youth Scholarship Winners Chosen!


Timothy Burrows is a student at the CinDay Academy. He bowled on the Miamisburg bowling team all four years of high school.. His GPA is4.11 and his highest USBC certified average is 213. He plans to attend Mount Vernon Nazarene University and has signed as a recruit for their bowling team. His plans include a degree in computer engineering.

Isabelle Snyder is a senior at Colerain High School. She has been a varsity bowler her entire high school time and was team captain for the 2022-23 season. Her GPA is 4.0 and her highest USBC average is 198. She is planning to attend the University of St. Francis in Illinois.
