The Inaugural Adult/Youth Tournament, co-sponsored by the BCAO and the Ohio State USBC, was held on October 7-8 and 14-15 at LeElla Lanes in Wahington Court House. Eighty-four couples ranging from age 6 to 84 competed for a State Championship Title. Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents and newly introduced bowlers joined forces in the competition and camaraderie of the event. Bowling at one of its finest moments! The Adult/Youth Event had 45 entries and the Adult/Teen Event had 39 entries. Current Unofficial Handicap Standings:

The excitement and enthusiasm filled the air and contributed to the FUN atmosphere of the event as both weekends saw excellence on the lanes. Teen bowler Jake Manbevers shot a 300 game on the first weekend and was presented with his Youth 300 shirt on October 14th. Adult bowler Patrick Adolph of Portage County rolled another 300 along with games of 264 and 246 for an 810 series on the second weekend.

Ohio State USBC Women’s and Open Senior Championships


Three weekends of the Ohio State USBC Women’s and Open Senior Championships are now completed at HP Lanes in Columbus as contestants in six age and gender categories will bowl 6 games plus handicap vying for a chance to claim the title of 2023 Ohio State USBC Senior State Champion. Over the course of the six weekends of the tournament, a total of 349 entrants in the Women’s Division and 1120 entrants in the Open Division will compete for not only a state title, but also a paid entry into the USBC Senior Championships along with a $500 stipend to help defray travel costs. Current unofficial standings are posed on our website www.ohiostateusbc.com

Ohio State USBC Women’s and Open Championships


Entries are now being accepted for the 2024 Ohio State USBC Open Championships. Team event to be held at Victory Lanes in Springfield and Doubles and Singles to be held at Beaver Vu Lanes in the Dayton area. Tournament opens on February 24 at the D & S Center and 25th at the Team Center, closing on April 28th. Entry fee is $30.00 per event with optional scratch events available. Reserved entries deadline is December 15, 2023 and Final Closing is January 17, 2024.



On-line reservations as well as mailed entries are now being accepted for the 2024 Ohio State USBC Women’s Championships. Team event will be held at Bowlero Lanes, formerly Seneca Lanes, in Fostoria and Doubles and Singles to be held at Toledo Sports Center. Tournament opens on March 16th and runs through April 28th. Entry fee is $30.00 per event with optional scratch events available. Reserved Entry Deadline is December 15, 2023 and Final Closing is January 17, 2024.

Entries will soon be available for the 2024 Ohio State USBC Queen’s Tournament to be held at Riviera Lanes in Akron, Ohio on January 27th and 28th. The tournament is open to Ohio State USBC female members with a 170 and above average in an Ohio State USBC Certified league. Entry fee is still $120.00 and walk-ins are permissible for a fee of $145.00. This event showcases Ohio’s premier women bowlers! Plan to enter if you are eligible, or, if not, plan to attend to watch Ohio’s finest females athletes competing for the coveted State Title.

Opening date for On-Line Registration for the Five (5) District Pepsi and Spring Handicap Singles Tournaments is December 1st. At that time parents and bowlers, who have the QR Code can go to our website www.ohiostateusbc.com and register for their proper District Pepsi and/or Spring Handicap Singles Tournaments. There will be no league qualifying this year – ALL certified youth bowlers are eligible to participate in the District Pepsi and Spring Handicap Singles Tournaments. The Five (5) District Tournament are scheduled to begin in March 2024.

Surely, you’ll all agree that the Ohio State USBC is a top-notch state association – No. 1, in fact. There are many reasons for this. Those reasons are the many hard working dedicated, talented bowlers all over the state working at all levels to promote bowling and keep it an enjoyable sport for all ages. You all know someone who fits that description. Don’t you think they deserve a pat on the back, a little recognition for their contributions? This is the month to start putting together information and filling out the forms for that certain someone in your association who fits the bill for:

Deadline for Ohio Bowling Hall of Fame applications is February 1st. All the others have a deadline date of March 1st. All these prestigious awards will be presented Annual Meeting weekend. Please help us recognize those members who have gone above and beyond to support and promote bowling in the State of Ohio. No one does these jobs for the recognition, but it certainly is nice to be publicly thanked for a job well done! All the forms, with qualifications are available on our website: www.ohiostateusbc.com
