One of the struggles which I have as a follower of Jesus is that the Lord does not operate on my timeline. Maybe you also have this struggle at times. I am pretty confident that I know how and when things should occur. I have convinced myself that if the Lord would just listen to my "suggestions" regarding timing, life would go much smoother (at least for me). However, I have never been successful in convincing the Lord to follow my suggestions. The truth is that almost every time I have a suggested a timeline, if my suggestion was followed, it would have had negative results overall.

The passage which we will be looking at during worship this Sunday is a snippet of a conversation which Jesus has with four of Jesus's closest disciples. He points out the importance of not letting the events of the world around them convince them that the timing of the coming of the kingdom in its fullness is close at hand. He encourages them to not be deceived. While they might eagerly hope for the fulfillment of the kingdom, the timing of that is in God's hands solely.

There is nothing wrong with us sharing in the voice of the psalmist who sings, "My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long?" (Psalm 6:3, NIV) Even as we sing these words, we must wait. We must trust in the Lord's timing. Instead of seeing only a small glimpse of time, the Lord sees the fullness of time and knows when the right time has arrived. Trust in the Lord's timing.

Blessings,

Pastor Mark

ALL TEAM and

SMALL GROUP LEADERS.....

WE NEED YOUR HOLIDAY SCHEDULE CHANGES!

Many of the events on BPC's Church Calendar are initially entered as "recurring events" that repeat on a set day/time. But during the holidays, groups sometimes change dates or times for their Holiday Parties/Luncheons, or cancel them altogether!

Please let us know if you are making any changes to your normally scheduled meetings or location over the holidays - we'll make sure it's on the calendar correctly. If you want a special article in the newsletter about your event, you can also let us know that - you can word the article yourself OR we'll do it for you if you provide all the details you want mentioned.
