"A Happy Snow-is-Disappearing" to all of our members!

Hopefully you all survived safely and without too much inconvenience.. although I will say that those few days Feb 15-17 were pretty rough for all of us.
Count yourself lucky if you worked from home, the ruts and snow piles on the streets were significant. The only advantage was that traffic was pretty light!

Let’s hope we are turning the corner on COVID, and at least vaccinations are underway so that we can possibly have a normal spring and summer again.

On that same happier note, we appreciate your attendance at the recent state of the village meeting with Mayor Brady, and we hope you found it interesting and useful. In this newsletter you will see information for the upcoming Meet and Greet for our new members at our next virtual March meeting. Lastly you’ve probably seen our upcoming event notice ‘Spring Tune-Up’ scheduled for April 29th – for those who just can’t wait until our June outing to get out on those greens!

We want to express our appreciation of your continued support of the association, and if you have any questions or would like some assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me or Donna.

Sincerely,
Mary Koutek

Payroll Tax Relief for Employers Impacted by
COVID-19 & Employee Retention Credit
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress created four payroll tax relief programs for employers via the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) in the spring of 2020 and later expanded those in the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) passed in late December 2020. These programs provide a tax deferral or tax credit against employer payroll costs (i.e. the employer portion of certain payroll taxes) attributable to certain wages paid to employees. Eligible employers may qualify for one or more of the following four programs: (1) payroll tax deferral, (2) employee retention credit, (3) paid sick leave credit or (4) paid family leave credit. The tax deferral and credits are reportable on an employer’s Form 941, Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return, starting with the second calendar quarter of 2020.

The Village of Bedford Connect2Work Program
FREE Training Links Below
BEDFORD PARK, IL – The Village of Bedford Park, IL has selected a team of mobility and technology partners to operate Connect2Work, an innovative first/last mile pilot program that will improve job access for suburban and city commuters alike.
The Connect2Work program will provide Bedford Park employees access to an array of first/last mile
(FLM), late‐night, on‐demand microtransit services, which will improve commuters’ access to jobs during both regular and late‐night business hours. The program will also include a first‐in‐the‐region Mobility as a Service (MaaS) app, which will help connect commuters to their preferred mode of travel.
Bedford Park’s unique mobility challenges and potential solutions were identified through the Village’s
last mile mobility planning effort, which was funded through an Invest in Cook grant. Bedford Park
issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on January 21, 2020 and received eleven responses. The
following partners were selected:
 First/Last Mile Service: Uber
 Late‐Night Service: Uber
 On‐Demand Microtransit Service: Via Mobility as a Service: Moovit

The Bedford Park - Clearing Industrial Association and the Connect2Work team hosted a free training and Q&A session on January 14th. Click on the links below to see the presentation:
