PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
We have been very busy the past few months. The BPCIA just concluded our golf season, along with a successful Small Business Clinic/Expo. Moving forward we're planning for our September 19th Quarterly Luncheon. We have three speakers who will discuss ACA repeal, paid leave requirements in Cook County, changes along with some important information on tax assessment appeal strategies, and changes to the 6b & Class 8 tax incentives. We hope you join us, and learn information that could help your business's bottom line.
I'd like to introduce two
of our newest Directors on the BPCIA Board, beginning their service with us in April 2017. Both gentlemen bring value to the table with fresh new ideas.
Khaalis Rahman
is honored to replace long time Director Robert Swanson who retired after 35 years of service and also represents ACH Food Companies as Robert successfully did for many years. Khaalis has over 22 years of plant management experience and has been at ACH Food Companies for a little over a year. Prior to that he spent just over 20-years with Greif Packaging, managing several facilities in North Carolina and Chicago. He served as a member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Manufacturing Council (South Charlotte Section) from 2005-2008 and most recently served as a Director on the Valley Industrial Association (VIA) board from 2011-2015. Khaalis is an Alumnus of University of Illinois and has two MBA degrees from IL Institute of Technology. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf & fishing when he gets time and participates in a number of not-for-profit community activities.
Derek Wasilevich is a commercial relationship manager at Wintrust Community Banks (Beverly Bank & Trust Co., NA.). Derek was been in banking for 17 years and has extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial businesses. His responsibilities include managing the loan and depository relationship of his clients. He takes a consultative approach with his clients by offering expertise and information that goes beyond bank products. Wintrust has over 160 locations throughout the Chicagoland area including Indiana and Wisconsin. Derek was born and raised in the Beverly neighborhood and an alumnus of Brother Rice High School, Northern Illinois University and earned his Masters of Accounting. He enjoys playing guitar and is always up for a round of golf (weather permitting).
As always, we welcome your comments or suggestions to continue our success. Contact the BPCIA Office or any of the board members with concerns or information you'd like to share with us.
Sincerely, Cheryl Laska
