A Message From President / Producer

THE 2019 RODEO CHAMPIONS FOR THE BILL PICKETT INVITATIONAL RODEO ASSOCIATION
HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!

On Saturday night, September 21st at Prince's George Show Place Arena in the DC/Upper Marlboro at the BPIR Championship Finals, the 2019 BPIR Tour came to an end. The BPIR tour traveled to Denver, CO., Memphis,TN., Oakland, CA., Los Angeles, CA., and Atlanta, GA. while celebrating its 35th anniversary to sold out crowds to determine which top ten competitors would make it to the Championship finals.

The top BPIR African American Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the US converged on the DC/Maryland area to see who could walk away with the championship. The competition was intense with the thrill of winning for some and the agony of defeat for others throughout the shows. No one was safe! It was clear that no matter which place the cowboys or cowgirls were in when they came to the finals, they would all have to be on their A game to win the championship.

Once the thrills, misses and spills were over and the winning times recorded, the suspense was agonizing as everyone was holding their breathe to see who the new champions were. The results came in, the Champions were announced and the excitement was exhilarating.

Congratulations to all the champions and a special thanks to all the communities who supported us during 2019 and for being a part of "The Greatest Show on Dirt"!  We would also offer a special thanks to our National Sponsors Toyoto, Ariat, Yeti and Upscale Magazine/Bonner Brothers. Your support assist us to continue providing a platform for the Black Cowboys and Cowgirls to showcase their talents and tell their stories.

We are excited that our Non-Profit arm of the organization, the Bill Pickett Memorial Scholarship Fund (BPMSF) extended their reach this year by presenting both National and Regional scholarships in every city we traveled to and performed. It is always important to support our youth and young adults and we strongly believe in giving back to the community. We therefore would like to recognize each of the 2019 recipients that received a scholarship. The role and importance of community has deteriorated across the country, we would love for you to joining us in supporting our future leaders and their communities by making a contribution to  BPMSF

The BPIR tour requires a extensive effort from a lot of different people who are part of the BPIR team. The BPIR team is privileged and honored to do it for you and the communities all over the United States. As a result, we are excited about our 2020 schedule for our 36th season, so please see below and note the 2020 dates for a city near you and put them on your calendar for next year.

Stay tune and watch for our 2020 schedule and information for our 36th season, which will be released by October 1, 2019. You can always go online to  www.billpickettrodeo.com  for the 2020 schedule and to see which city the rodeo is coming to near you.
