THE 2019 RODEO CHAMPIONS FOR THE BILL PICKETT INVITATIONAL RODEO ASSOCIATION
HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!
On Saturday night, September 21st at Prince's George Show Place Arena in the DC/Upper Marlboro at the BPIR Championship Finals, the 2019 BPIR Tour came to an end. The BPIR tour traveled to Denver, CO., Memphis,TN., Oakland, CA., Los Angeles, CA., and Atlanta, GA. while celebrating its 35th anniversary to sold out crowds to determine which top ten competitors would make it to the Championship finals.
The top BPIR African American Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the US converged on the DC/Maryland area to see who could walk away with the championship. The competition was intense with the thrill of winning for some and the agony of defeat for others throughout the shows. No one was safe! It was clear that no matter which place the cowboys or cowgirls were in when they came to the finals, they would all have to be on their A game to win the championship.
Once the thrills, misses and spills were over and the winning times recorded, the suspense was agonizing as everyone was holding their breathe to see who the new champions were. The results came in, the Champions were announced and the excitement was exhilarating.
Congratulations to all the champions and a special thanks to all the communities who supported us during 2019 and for being a part of "The Greatest Show on Dirt"! We would also offer a special thanks to our National Sponsors Toyoto, Ariat, Yeti and Upscale Magazine/Bonner Brothers. Your support assist us to continue providing a platform for the Black Cowboys and Cowgirls to showcase their talents and tell their stories.
We are excited that our Non-Profit arm of the organization, the Bill Pickett Memorial Scholarship Fund (BPMSF) extended their reach this year by presenting both National and Regional scholarships in every city we traveled to and performed.
