Ancestry Remote Access Extended!
Work on your family history at home with Ancestry Library Remote Access. With your BPL card you can access our Ancestry Library account off-site through March 31, 2021.

Federal and State Tax Forms
The library has common federal income tax forms available to the public. Other forms may be printed at the library.

To order additional federal forms, call the IRS at 1-800-829-3676 or download forms online at www.irs.gov/forms-instructions.

To order state forms, call teh Revenue Department at 1-800-356-6302 or download forms online at www.tax.illinois.gov.
Borrow hours of entertainment with our Binge Box collection!
Each box contains 4-6 DVDs that share a theme such as Don't Go In the Water, 80s Action, and Reinventing a Classic. For children, check out Disney Live Action, Dreamworks, Family Movie Night and more! Search the library's online catalog using the keyword "binge box" or search for a box by name.
Help us support our Veterans!
During the month of February donations of Move-in Essentials will be accepted at the Bloomingdale Public Library, Village Hall, Fire Department, and Park District (JRC) facilities. Donation items will be provided to Veterans who are exiting homelessness.

Only new, store-bought items will be accepted.

Join other parents, high school and middle school students, and professionals to learn about issues facing today’s youth. The Glenbard Parent Series engages top experts, parents and school staff to become proactive and informed in pursuit of the mutual goal to strengthen our communities. Programs are free and open to the public.

We publish monthly newsletters focused on the following areas:

BPL General Information:
Bloomingdale Public Library will remain open during our regular hours. The procedures we currently have in place fit within the state's updated guidelines (which began Friday, November 20). We will continue to offer in-person services such as reference help and book/DVD checkouts, as well as virtual programming, until further notice. Our meeting rooms are closed through March 31, 2021.

We will be following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the state's Restore Illinois plan as we expand our services in the future. Please see www.mybpl.org/covidinfo for future updates.

Entry Requirements
In order to help protect our patrons and staff, everyone visiting the library must follow these requirements:
  • Building capacity is 35 patrons at a time.
  • Wear a face covering or mask covering their nose and mouth at all times.
  • Maintain social distancing of at least six feet apart.
  • Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer often.
  • Short visits are recommended, 1-hour time limit with very limited seating is available.

PLEASE remember that, at this time, we are NOT accepting material donations of any kind. Do not leave boxes of books, papers, DVDs/CDs, etc, outside our doors. We are not able to bring these materials indoors, and left outside they are a hazard and will be damaged by weather. Please hold materials until an announcement is made after we reopen that we are once again accepting donations. We thank you for your patience.

Wi-Fi Extended throughout Parking Lot
BPL has installed an exterior Wi-Fi antenna to our building so that our Wi-Fi signal now extends throughout our parking lot and Gazebo area. Residents without home Wi-Fi may now use this resource for remote learning, downloading of eBooks, audiobooks, magazines and more. We have designated the back row of our parking lot as the official Drive-Up Wi-Fi location and is signed as such. Please remember to keep up social distancing rules. Remember that this is a parking lot that is still used by the Village of Bloomingdale and others, so observe all safety precautions as normal. Wi-Fi is availabe 8:00am to 10:00pm every day.
