Current BPL Status
April 1, 2020
In accordance with the March 31
st
extension of Governor Pritzker's Stay-at-Home order, we will be closed at least through Thursday, April 30. All library programs are canceled at least through that date. Please keep up with us by checking our website and Facebook page for updates and remote access information.
As the cases of COVID-19 in Illinois grow and are expected to continue to rise, we continue to take the health of our patrons and staff seriously. We are constantly monitoring the State of IL and CDC guidelines for best practices for reducing the spread of the virus, as well as for when our building can resume operations. Once we do reopen, we know there will most likely be necessary reductions in both the number of programs we hold and the attendees allowed at those programs. We will keep you informed of all decisions made in regard to library activities.
How to Contact BPL
While the library is closed, we are monitoring questions and services remotely as best we can. Please contact us via email at
[email protected] OR via text by texting
mybpl to 66746. You can also access both of these options from our website - simply go to mybpl.org, click on
"Ask a Librarian", and in the new window, type in your question and check how you'd like a response - via text or email. The option you click will change the box below asking for either your cell phone number to receive a text response or your email address for a response. Then click
"Submit" and someone will respond as soon as we can.
We thank you for your patience in this difficult time. Stay safe, and we hope to see you healthy when restrictions are lifted!
