October is SOCKTOBER!
Did you know that an estimated 600,000 people in the US live on the streets and need simple things, like socks, to help them through the night?

Socks are the most needed clothing item for those in need, but are the least donated article of clothing in homeless shelters.

That is why, during October, the Bloomingdale Public Library has joined with Socks & Souls to accept donations of NEW socks that will be donated to a group in the area. There will be a donation bin next to the Circulation Desk.

Socks & Souls also offers socks for purchase and a sock subscription - for every pair of socks purchased, one pair will be donated.

For more information about Socktober and/or Socks & Souls, check their website at socksandsouls.com .
