BRE News #103: Upcoming Event Details, the Final 60th Anniversary Products

BRE News #103: Final 60th Anniversary Products & Latest Schedule: June 30th, 2026

Greetings!

As we often say, the only constant is change so we’ll start with one of the largest changes we’ve had in quite a few years in that Devin is leaving BRE/Aerovault after being with us for almost 7 years, to pursue a career in law enforcement. His replacement, Christian (seen here at right as Devin hands off Aerovault duties to him), joined us last week and has been picking up on Devin’s job very quickly. While he may not be as versed in car details as Devin, he brings other skills we haven’t had on staff before, like knowing html coding which has already shown to be beneficial with figuring out how to fix issues with our websites. Devin has been very complimentary of the way Christian searches out answers and how after just a few days, Christian took the driver’s seat with Devin’s computer and started performing tasks himself. Devin will be with us through the end of this week (July 3^rd).

We wish Devin the best in his new career and as he will still live in the area we expect to see him often, including that he will still take care of cat Claire when we’re out of town and dog Kit when we travel internationally. And let’s not be remiss in mentioning that Zack, who has been with us for two years now performing order fulfillment and parts and inventory management, will continue his good customer service-oriented work with us, and you.

On to events, this weekend we will be at Pacific Raceways just south of Seattle for Sovren’s Pacific Northwest Historics. Friday night’s dinner is now sold out but there will be a lot of great racing this weekend with over 170 entries, including a Two-Five Challenge (those wonderful Datsun 510s) on Sunday. When not watching races or in the paddock, you will be able to find Peter, talk and get autographs at the Old Cannery Pavilion. We'll be bringing some of our books and BRE 60^th anniversary products. Not much though as we’ll be flying. Details below.

We’ve also been working on the massive Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna-Seca in August where Peter will be the Grand Marshal and Japanese cars are the featured marque. We don’t have a lot more details than we did in our last newsletter but what we do have is mentioned below. We have a meeting with the track on July 8^th and expect to have more details after that meeting.

Speaking of 60^th anniversary products we unveil our last items below; Hoodies (you’ll need one for chilly/foggy Monterey!) and coffee mugs featuring the BRE Datsuns.

Pacific Northwest Historics

This Weekend July 3rd - July 5th

We start the weekend by attending the Driver’s meeting at 8am at the Pacific Raceways track this Friday, wishing 170+ drivers that will be there, a great race. Friday at 6pm will be the dinner (sold out) where Peter shares stories and takes a few questions.

When we aren’t watching a race or cruising the paddock we will be “stationed” at the Old Cannery Pavilion tent where you can stop by to say hello, get items signed and check out the few items we will have brought with us in our suitcase, like my most recent books. Currently we are scheduled to be in the tent (always subject to change): Friday 1-3pm and 3:30-5pm, Saturday 9-11:30am and 1:30-5pm and Sunday 9-11:45am.

We will certainly be watching the Two-Five Challenge race on Sunday at 1:15 followed by the Event Ceremony. Other races we may watch on Saturday are: Race 1: Vintage Pre-War to 1962 Production Cars/Small

Back by Request and Better than Ever!

Many many years ago we offered black & white BRE 240Z and BRE 510 coffee mugs. They’ve not been available for more than10 years now and for our 60^th Anniversary we’ve decided to make another set, this time in bold colors with large, striking, artwork and for all three BRE Datsun Championship cars this time.

Now this is a test. We occasionally get requests for BRE Datsun Roadster items but they don’t sell. We’ll have roadster products in inventory for more than a decade. So for anyone who has ever requested a BRE Datsun Roadster product, here is your chance to show us it’s worth creating/offering products with the Roadster! Laguna-Seca Monterey Motorsports Reunion!

Japanese Cars the Marque - Peter Brock the Grand Marshal

Laguna-Seca Raceway is the place to be this August during Monterey Car Week. Japanese cars are the marque and Peter Brock the Grand Marshal! On display will be the largest number of original BRE race cars ever gathered together at one time.

Datsun/Nissan Car Corral and Parade Laps

We are working with the track on various activities and so far we have a Datsun/Nissan Car Corral setup.

The Datsun/Nissan Corral pass:

Allows you to park your Datsun/Nissan in the Green/Lakebed area (this won't be far from our BRE Exhibit Booth).
Is valid all 4 event days: Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat.
Includes an event souvenir
Includes the opportunity to join the parade track lap. However, parade laps will be limited to 100 cars, first come first serve.

The amount of space for cars in the Corral is limited so you want to get your pass asap.

Don't wait... corral parking is limited. We've asked for 100 spots but if we fall short the track will release the rest to other marques. If we sell out quickly, we can probably negotiate more spots to be made available.

Note, Car Corral passes do NOT give entry to the track grounds or paddock. Admission tickets must be purchased here separately. The track split the car corral and admission tickets apart a few years ago because people were complaining they didn't have the flexibility to only pay for the days they planned to attend or to purchase a hospitality package instead of individual day passes.

If you've never been to Monterey Car Week, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Be prepared, it's expensive. Hotel prices quadruple their normal room rates that week and the tickets to the track aren't cheap either. Plan ahead so you can be there... with us!

Get Ready For Foggy/Chilly Monterey!

If you’ve been to Monterey Car Week before you know how chilly it can be in the middle of Summer. You’ll need a BRE hoodie and they've just arrived! These hoodies sport the attention getting 60^th Anniversary BRE wreath in gold on the front and the Cars of BRE on the back (listed in detail below).

These hoodies are high quality and heavyweight. They are so heavyweight we initially thought they were oversized but when you slip it on you realize that a lot of the size is the thick, quality fabric they are made with, which includes a comfy fleece interior and an elastic band at the wrists and waist.

Sizing: In these images, Gayle is wearing a size small. Btw – Peter is quite pleased he finally convinced her to model our apparel as he kept telling her our apparel model needed better hair than he has! Gayle’s review is that they are generously sized in the shoulders and sleeves but for women that have a curvy body she recommends ladies go up one size from their normal shirt size to get a little more room in the midsection and hips.

And for the guys, it doesn't hurt to go up one size from your normal as you'll no doubt be wearing your Hoodie over another shirt.

BRE Open House

Join us in Celebrating Peter Brock's 90th Birthday!

It's confirmed, our Open House will be October 31st, yes on Halloween, the Saturday prior to SEMA week, here at our shop in Henderson, NV (779 Middlegate Rd, Henderson, NV 89011). We encourage folks to come in costume for Halloween and celebrate Peter Brock's 90th birthday with us (which is technically two weeks later). Spoiler alert, odds are that Peter will come dressed as the team manager of the BRE race team!

Open House Schedule:

8:30-9:30am Display car parking onsite. If you arrive after 9:30 you’ll have to park on the street no matter how cool your car is.

9am Open House begins* with showroom open

10:00-10:30am Autograph session with Peter Brock

· Autographs are $25 per item

· No more than 3 outside items will be autographed. “Outside” item means something that is brought to the event

· Anything purchased from BRE at the event can be autographed at no charge

10:30- 11:15 Car Award Judging

11:15 lunch break

Noon: Special Peter Brock 90th Birthday Celebration

ZCON the National Z Convention September 21-27th, Phoenix, AZ

This is the most comprehensive event we know of, and it's focused on Zs! This is always an amazing week of activities including guided tours, scenic self-tours, track days, karting, a chili party, movie night, a diecast and memorabilia exchange, tech talks, music, refreshments, awards. Get details here. It's a full week of activities that we will join starting Thursday night September 24th thru the Awards banquet Saturday night, the 26th.

Details outlined above in this newsletter but the big thing is that this will be our celebration of Peter's 90th birthday! It's only going to happen once.

In Closing
