FourIMRF's 75th Anniversary:
A year-long celebration
IMRF recognized its 75th Anniversary throughout 2016 with special events that not only honored the milestone anniversary, but also honored our members, stakeholders, and employers. Established in 1941 with five employers and a $5,000 investment in a U.S. Treasury Bond, IMRF has grown to serve 2,972 units of government with an investment portfolio valued at $34.3 billion (as of December 31, 2015).

Part of the celebration included a special 75th Anniversary logo used in IMRF's newsletters, annual report, and promotional materials. A dedicated 75th Anniversary web page included "IMRF Stories," a series profiling IMRF retirees, and a special message from Executive Director Louis W. Kosiba.

Employers, members, and retirees received 75th Anniversary history booklets outlining the fund's landmark events, poster-sized "Memorable Milestones" timelines marking key achievements in IMRF's history, and keepsake magnets. Employers were invited to Employer Appreciation Meet-and-Greet events, held at both IMRF's Springfield and Oak Brook offices. Additionally, IMRF saluted the historic "First Five" organizations with a special presentation of a commemorative plaque. IMRF's "First Five" include: the City of Evanston, the Village of Riverside, the City of Galesburg, the City of Rockford, and the Rockford Park District.

At the close of its year-long 75th Anniversary celebration, IMRF is poised to best serve its members, retirees, and employers with dedication and distinction for the next 75 years ... and beyond.
