BREAKING NEWS: LETTERS WRITTEN TO OC BOS AND DANA POINT CITY COUNCIL, RE: OC BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, TENTATIVE AUGUST 11th HARBOR LEASE AMENDMENTS

Dear Dana Point Boater,

Last week, Dana Point Boaters Association wrote two letters, one to the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the other to the Dana Point City Council Members regarding the new Dana Point Harbor 66-Year Lease Agreements. These letters are in response to the OC Board of Supervisors meeting on June 23, 2026, Agenda Item S94Z.

At the June 23rd meeting, we commend Fifth District Supervisor Katrina Foley for proposing a slip rate pricing policy to be included in the Marina lease; you can read it HERE.

You can find the letter to the Orange County Board of Supervisors HERE and the letter to the City of Dana Point Council Members HERE. To date, we've had no response from either board.

Links to the Supervisors and the City Council are listed below, along with this LINK to email them directly using suggested language.

Several other items that stand out for Boaters and the Harbor Community are in the Orange County Real Estate Memorandum of Understanding. You can find all the items listed of concern to boaters and other items HERE.

Day-use boaters, we want to hear from you when the drystack proposal is submitted to the California Coastal Commission. Are 150 day-use boater parking spaces enough? If not, please write to the Board of Supervisors and the California Coastal Commission to voice your concerns.

Regarding the Sailing and Events Center, is a restaurant needed at a facility that is used mainly by non-profit organizations to facilitate water activities for youth and adults? If you have concerns, please attend the Community Meeting on August 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sailing and Events Center. CLICK HERE or see below for information on the event.

Please remember to let your voice be heard. Contact information for the DP City Council and the OC Board of Supervisors is listed at the bottom of this newsletter.

We thank you for your continued support,

Please be fastidious in monitoring any new items posted by the Board of Supervisors and comment to make your voice heard!
