MCA AWARDS FUNDING TO BUILD FIBER IN VANCEBORO, LAMBERT LAKE, WAITE, TALMADGE, TOPSFIELD AND KOSSUTH

Fidium Fiber (CCI) has been awarded $1.29M to bring fiber to the Washington County communities of Vanceboro, Lambert Lake, Waite, Talmadge, Topsfield, and Kossuth where residents have long struggled with internet "speeds" of 6/.49.


Fiber connectivity will allow community members to finally participate in telehealth, educational opportunities, remote work, and the global economy!

The Affordable Connectivity Program provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.


Brooke Hachey is the Affordable Connectivity Coordinator at Sunrise County Economic Council. 


Brooke can assist Washington County residents at no cost with:

  • one-on-one ACP enrollment assistance
  • on-site ACP awareness events at your school, business or organization
  • in-person or virtual ACP informational sessions

The National Digital Equity Center offers more than 40 free classes that are designed for the novice device user to the intermediate user. Classes are free for all Maine residents and can be taken in an online interactive format or in-person at locations across the state.
