CSBG in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Aid Package
The following
update
comes from David Bradley, co-founder and chief executive officer of the National Community Action Foundation (NCAF):
"Although the House and Senate have not completed voting on the final passage of the coronavirus supplemental, I want to tell you that the funding levels have been agreed to: we achieved
$1 billion in additional CSBG funding following our current distribution system
as well as the language that we negotiated which includes
200% FPL
and
2-year carry over
(language included below). This was the most complicated issue we've ever been involved with, and
I can't wait to tell you the details tomorrow

Additionally, the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (NEUAC) is reporting that
Congress has proposed an additional $900 million for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
to address the COVID-19 health and economic crisis sweeping the country as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES). The bill is expected to be voted on today.
