Starting this week, BRHD is implementing a number of improvements to make COVID-19 testing and resulting more efficient. These updates are only for testing sites conducted at our local health departments (Monday-Thursday) and Friday testing at JCPenney at Fashion Square Mall.
Community members may now register for testing online. Simply visit the BRHD testing website and register for a testing appointment for the desired test site and date. The specific links to register will change each week for each site therefore there is no need to save the individual link, but please bookmark our BRHD Testing website for easy access to upcoming sites and to register. When registering, community members will enter personal information then proceed to a second page where a time slot can be selected. Time slots are available in 30-minute windows - it is important that community members arrive during their allotted window of time. It is also highly recommended to include a phone number, that can accept text messages, and email when registering to make getting test results and needed documentation for your result easier. If multiple people in one family need to be tested, they all must register individually; however we will accommodate the whole car even if testing appointments are different. Community members may still call the BRHD hotline to register.
A link to test results will be sent via text message to those tested. This link will direct to a secure Virginia Department of Health website where results will be available for viewing and printing, if needed. Verification of identity will be needed, which includes Name, Date of Birth and test date. Results will continue to be available within 72 hours.
Please note that these changes are in place only for local health department sites and Fridays at JCPenney - all other testing processes for testing with UVA (Mondays and Tuesdays) and Next Molecular (Wednesdays and Thursdays) remain unchanged.
Please continue to call our COVID-19 Hotline at 434-972-6261 with questions or if COVID-19 test results from a BRHD site have not been received after 72 hours.
