George Michael Freedom Uncut ONE NIGHT ONLY!
Wednesday, June 22nd at 7PM • $15 in advance or $18 day of the event
GEORGE MICHAEL FREEDOM UNCUT focuses on the formative period in the late Grammy Award winner's life and career, leading up to and following the making of his acclaimed, best-selling album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 and his subsequent, infamous High Court battle with his record label that followed, while also becoming poignantly personal about the death of his first love, Anselmo Feleppa. Filmed before Michael's untimely passing, the documentary is narrated by the singer, who was heavily involved in the making of the film that serves as his final work.
The film features George's incredible, unseen archival and private home-footage, giving viewers a first-person account of this dramatic period in his life, revealing how he became one of the most influential recording artists of all time, who alone fought a corner for all artists by challenging the standard recording contract helping to rewrite the rules of the music industry. He talks about why he stepped out of the lime light and turned his back on celebrity.
The feature documentary includes the original five supermodels from Oscar-nominated director David Fincher's Freedom! '90 video – Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and Linda Evangelista – who come together for the first time to discuss their experience on the iconic music video. The film also features interviews with some of Michael's most famous friends and music legends, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Tracey Emin, Liam Gallagher, Mary J. Blige, Jean Paul Gaultier, James Corden and Tony Bennett.

OPENING FRIDAY AT YOUR SALEM CINEMA!

A happy-go-lucky story about found family, BRIAN AND CHARLES is a delightfully goofy, sweet-natured charmer!
"There’s some Frankenstein and some Wallace and Gromit and some that is entirely Brian and Charles’s own; the mockumentary-style comedy, directed by Jim Archer, is sweet, funny, weird, and heartwarming." - Alissa Wilkinson, Vox
A delightful celebration of inventiveness and ingenuity, BRIAN AND CHARLES is an entertainingly funny film with a huge heart. Something of an outcast, Brian lives alone in a remote village in the countryside and whimsically spends his spare time inventing things out of unique found objects. Without friends or family to rely on, Brian decides to build a robot as a companion to help while away the hours. Charles is not only Brian's most successful invention, but he appears to have a personality all his own and quickly becomes Brian's best friend, curing his loneliness and opening Brian's eyes to a new way of living. Charles also creates more problems than Brian bargained for, and the timid inventor has to face-up to several issues in his life. This disarmingly humorous tale that tickles the ribs and tugs at the heartstrings is a feel-good comedy that is not just about a 7 foot tall robot that loves cabbage, but about friendship, love and letting go. The world will soon fall in love with Brian and Charles...you will, too!
Stay through the end credits. You'll thank us later!

With an easygoing, crowd-pleasing charm, CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH is funny, wise, winsome and endearing!
"A smartly constructed, amiably appealing coming-of-age zhuzhed up with mainstream marquee names (Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann) and enough sharp edges to transcend the more familiar outlines of the script." - Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly
With a wonderful central cast, deeply insightful script and sharp humor, CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH perfectly captures the naivety and obliviousness of that awkward stretch between adolescence and adulthood. Fresh out of college and without a clear life path going forward, 22-year-old Andrew is stuck back at home with his family in New Jersey. But if there's one thing that belongs on his nonexistent resume, it's how to get a party started, which lands him the perfect job of motivational dancing at the bar and bat mitzvahs for his younger brother's classmates. When Andrew befriends a local mom, Domino, and her daughter, Lola, he finally discovers a future he wants – even if it might not be his own. Cooper Raiff writes, directs and stars alongside Dakota Johnson, Brad Garrett, Leslie Mann and newcomers Vanessa Burghardt and Evan Assante in a tale of unconventional love that brims with emotional honesty. It is endlessly charming, tremendously uplifting and the type of feel-good filmmaking that will make you want to embrace your loved ones just a little bit tighter.

The profound and affecting real-life story of a combat veteran whose poetry warned against the horrors of war, BENEDICTION is a sumptuous, multi-layered drama.
"Benediction finds both sorrow and hilariously withering wit in the eventful life of a famed wartime poet, offering some of the sharpest, nimblest dialogue of writer-director Terence Davies’ estimable career." - A.A. Dowd, Empire Magazine
Captivating, poignant and lovingly detailed, master filmmaker Terence Davies' BENEDICTION explores the turbulent life of WWI poet Siegfried Sassoon (Jack Lowden in a nuanced and heartfelt performance). The writer and soldier was a complex man who survived the horrors of fighting in the First World War and was decorated for his bravery but who became a vocal critic of the government's continuation of the war when he returned from service. His poetry was inspired by his experiences on the Western Front, and he became one of the leading war poets of the era. Adored by members of the aristocracy as well as stars of London's literary and stage world, he embarked on affairs with several men as he attempted to come to terms with his homosexuality. At the same time, he made his life's journey a quest for salvation, trying to find it within the conformity of marriage and religion. Blending funny, sexy, wrenchingly emotional moments into a collage that continually catches us by surprise, BENEDICTION is a wistful, hypnotic look at how words can act as weapons – how they can prick and protect and give us places to hide.
