A Public Theologian – A prolific writer and speaker, Brian comes back again and again to the Great Commandment – we are called to love God and our neighbors as ourselves. He writes about the web of interconnectedness – the web of mutuality into which we are all woven. He stresses that to get out of the catastrophic situations we find our world in - war, famine, pandemic, raging fires, and hurricanes - that it will take all of us together to bring about the changes that are needed. He is a passionate advocate for “a new kind of Christianity” – just, generous, and working with people of all faiths for the common good.
Brian’s new book Faith After Doubt; Why Your Beliefs Stopped Working and What To Do About It will be published in early 2021. Using his own story and the stories of a diverse group of struggling believers, Brian shows how old assumptions are being challenged in nearly every area of human life, not just theology and spirituality. He proposes a model of faith development in which questions and doubt are not the enemy of faith, but rather a portal to a more mature and fruitful kind of faith.
