Thirteenth Edition
NEW CHAPTER FOR GCMAGIC
GCMAGIC is proud to announce that we have a new creative space.

Thanks to Broadbeach Rotary Club for providing GCMAGIC with this workspace. This includes a large workshop space, modern kitchen, amenities, a storage room, and free parking. This space enables the organisation to increase its quantity and quality of activities.

A series of workshops are being coordinated and organised by our artists team that will start in April this year.
Special thanks to the Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC) for providing GCMAGIC access to their meeting room and facilities at their Southport premises. We look forward to future collaboration.

For any inquiries about using our workspace or meeting with our team, please send your interest to [email protected]

FOCUS PROJECT FOR 2024
As a multi-form art organisation, in addition to our annual arts activities (group exhibitions, women’s festival/expo, arts workshops, facilitating and assisting other cultural groups and events), the focus subject in 2024 is the dialectic tool of ‘story-sharing’ and ‘story-telling’ between nations, genders and generations. GCMAGIC is experienced in written collected stories. In 2024, verbal live story-telling is in the menu.
PARTNERSHIP
What a wonderful partner is Creative Hub - Queensland Health located at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH). We are so pleased to partner with Creative Hub in a few projects annually.
In the coming months, our unique photo-painting collection ‘The People and the Place-Gold Coast’ will be displayed at the gallery spaces of GCUH and Robina Hospital during Harmony Week (for 2 weeks). This collection consists of 40 original photos of 36 cultural groups which had been painted over by GCMAGIC’s artist team to make them lively. The project was funded by RADF through the Activate Program in 2023 and the full collection was exhibited at Robina Art Gallery in August 2023 and exhibited in other gallery spaces.
Our sculpture ‘Call Home’ has been moved from its previous home to Creative Hub’s space and will be installed in front of GCUH so thousands of people can view it every day.

We invited the public to view this innovative and collaborative artwork when it was installed.
