Colours of Spices
This October, we’re turning spices into stories!
Join local artist Hayley Stanich for a whirlwind of colourful, hands-on art workshops where the scent of cinnamon and the golden glow of turmeric will inspire clay, collage, painting, and papier-mâché masterpieces.
These workshops will be a chance to share your culture, connect with others, and explore how spices can carry memories, inspire creativity, and help us celebrate our tradition.

We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of Call Home, our second public artwork, during this year’s ArtBeat Festival on 10 October.
First displayed at SWELL Sculpture Festival 2023, Call Home celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity through themes of diversity, harmony, and unity. Standing 180cm tall, it features 76 hand-crafted clay tiles made by 26 emerging artists, topped with a mirrored sphere that reflects the viewer as part of the work.
Created under the guidance of Michelle Noordink and produced by Nasrin Vaziri with GCMAGIC, this piece is a vibrant reminder of the beauty in coming together.

Dr. Mohtady, an Egyptian-born medical doctor and senior academic, specialises in Microbiology, Public Health, and Medical Education. Holding two doctorates, including a PhD from Griffith University on disaster resilience in healthcare, she is recognised by the WHO as a hospital resilience expert.
A novelist, columnist, and advocate for women’s empowerment, climate resilience, and DFV initiatives, she leads GCMAGIC to promote creativity, cultural exchange, and community impact worldwide.
