Mercer Island Rotary Run
This Sunday, March 24
Please use caution in your travels this Sunday morning. The annual Rotary Run and Half Marathon causes several exits and streets to be closed or restricted during the event. Watch for participants and pedestrians. Event info and schedule can be found here.
If you are unable to make our morning services due to participation in the Rotary Run events, please come to worship at 5pm and stay for the missions dinner!
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Please join us for a prayer shawl ministry meeting this coming Sunday, March 24, after second service in the Ark Sunday school hallway at The Wave.  Knitters, prayers, good listeners all welcome to join us as we knit and pray together for hats and shawls providing soul comfort in times of need.
Missions
The Giving Table, This Sunday, March 24 at 6pm
It's not too late to sign-up!

One of the ways we partner with God's people in the world is through the Presbyterian Mission Agency, prayerfully working in collaboration with congregations and global partners.  This year, as part of our Lenten discipline, we want the MIPC congregation to participate in how we, specifically, are able to support our global partners with the resources from the Missions Foundation.  Every gift has the power to fulfill a need, change a life, and foster hopes.

You are invited to an intergenerational church dinner on March 24 for fellowship and the opportunity to help direct some of these funds that go toward our partners.  See this website for more information:

Every dinner table will have a certain amount to thoughtfully donate these designated funds, and we'll pray together for God's people around the world while sharing in fellowship with one another.
For planning purposes, please follow this link to RSVP, or sign-up on the clipboard at the front desk.

Special Guests at MIPC on Sunday, March 31
Two Catholic sisters from our mission partner medical clinic in Hue, Vietnam, will be visiting us on March 31. They will be introduced during worship and will meet with interested congregation members to talk about their ministry at 9:15am in the Fireside Room .

MIPC Continues to Turn Green
MIPC wants to use ALL compostable dishes and cutlery. Please refrain from bringing non-compostable, disposable items to the church. Thank you for encouraging others to participate in this change. If you have any questions please contact Judith Baxter, [email protected], or 206-232-5595 x1015.
Lenten Devotionals Available
Throughout history, Lent has served as a time of reflection. This year, in order to facilitate that reflection, we will offer a Lenten devotional prepared by the PCUSA called "Awakening to God's Beauty - A Lenten Invitation to Pray with Art."  The devotional uses photography to open our eyes with new awareness and gratitude for the beauty of creation, and also to God's call for justice in our world. We hope that the devotional will stir our souls on our Lenten journey together. Suggested donation $3.00.
Building Update
Thank you to everyone who came to the Annual Meeting on March 3rd.  There was a good conversation that lasted after the meeting was over on the environmental impact of the bids coming in for the HVAC units.  While this is something that the Session and Building Task Force had already been working on and thinking about, we heard the voices that shared and are furthering our discussions with PSR, our HVAC vendor, based on the feedback.  The Session is weighing the whole scope of the building and needs in front of us and will keep you updated as we have more information.
Volunteer with Union Gospel
Do you have an interest in learning more about Seattle's homeless challenges? Are you looking for a direct way to help those living on the street? Seattle's Union Gospel Mission (UGM) has a program called Search and Rescue that you may be interested in. Every evening, typically from 6:30pm to 11pm, a group of volunteers visits various homeless camps in the Seattle area to distribute sandwiches, hot cocoa, blankets and a prayer to those in need. It's a powerful experience, and UGM is always looking for individuals and groups to volunteer. One of our parishioners, Dawson Stoops, is organizing a group from MIPC to volunteer for this program. If you are interested in learning more about the program and potentially volunteering, please email Dawson at [email protected].
Campanella Bell Choir
Bell Choir is looking for some additional ringers. If you can read music and can practice on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8, contact Ron Ebbers, 206-248-1815 or [email protected] and come give bells a try. Men, women, middle or high schoolers are welcome. We generally play the first Sunday of the month October through May or June.

Sanctuary  Flowers Invitation
Each Sunday, congregation members have the opportunity to provide the beauty of flowers to the sanctuary. Many donate to honor loved ones who have passed, celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just because they love seeing flowers at church. Whatever the reason, your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Flowers can come from your garden or a flower shop, whatever works best for you. Because some are allergic to floral fragrances, it's best to plan flowers without fragrances. Thank you.

Please look at the calendar to see if there is a specific Sunday that you would like to provide flowers for worship in the sanctuary. Your beautiful donation will be recognized in the bulletin.

Please reach out to Brian at the front desk to coordinate your donation or if you have any questions, [email protected]
