Building God's Kingdom:
MIPC Stewardship 2019
Thank you to all the talented actors and actresses who appeared in our MIPC video "Building God's Kingdom", as well as to our fabulous film-maker, Sarah Giese.  The video asks the question "How is MIPC Building God's Kingdom" and features small vignettes featuring 4 aspects of the life of our church -   Mission, Community, Worship and Education.  It debuted at all 3 services last Sunday and if you missed it, you can watch it here.  We hope you will share it with friends and family and anyone that might be interested in the life of our church.

Our stewardship campaign asks for your prayerful reflection on how you can help support the operating budget of our church in 2019.  Our operating budget allows us to live into our call to worship God and serve God's people in the world through the 4 aspects mentioned in the video - Mission, Community, Worship, Education - and others.  Pledge forms have been mailed out and extras are scattered throughout the church.  The pledge form is an estimate of giving and helps the leadership of the church plan for the year ahead.   Note: you can always increase or decrease your commitment if circumstances change.

We are grateful for the faithful giving of our church community and if you are new to pledging, we welcome your help and support.
Thank you!!
Fall Festival is Coming!
Sunday, October 28th, 3:00-5:00pm
MIPC Children's Ministries and Pebble Pre-School will host our annual Fall Festival, two hours of family fun including Trunk n' Treat, crafts, activities, and of course, a costume parade! The east parking lot will be lined with cars, trunks open, decorated, and ready to welcome our youngest ghosts and goblins (and pirates and witches and everyone!). It's a safe way for our "littles" to participate in a fun tradition on a scale that will not overwhelm. In the event we have rain, "Trunk n' Treat" will move indoors to the Sunday School hallway. From there, kids are invited to create delightful autumn crafts, jump in the bouncy house, wrap a mummy, and finally join in the costume parade. All in the gym, rain or shine!
We are grateful to Kristin Rahlfs for coordinating this year's event. She still needs many volunteers to make this afternoon a success. There are lots of different ways you can help. Please have a look at the jobs in the link below and find a friend to share the work!
YOU can help make this year's festival another wonderful, multi-generational event that's safe and fun for all! Please RSVP and sign up to help with the festivities: Sign Up Genius.  Any questions please contact Kristin at [email protected]
Elder and Deacon Nominations
The Nominating Committee is looking for suggestions for new Elders and Deacons. This is the last call to provide us with your suggestions for who will make a good candidate(s). You may email your suggestions to [email protected].

Serving as an Elder is a high calling to offer servant leadership to the congregation, and an experience of spiritual growth. Elders have responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church including exercise in leadership, governance, spiritual discernment, and discipline.

Deacons have a high calling in our denomination - one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress.  At MIPC, deacons reach out to the congregation as a whole and serve on a team that focuses on one specific area of ministry that encompasses compassion, witness and service.

Individuals who are called to these particular ministries should be persons of strong faith, dedicated discipleship, and love of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel in the church and in the world.

Sanctuary Flowers
Each Sunday, congregation members have the opportunity to provide the beauty of flowers to the sanctuary. Many donate to honor loved ones who have passed, celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just because they love seeing flowers at church. Whatever the reason, the thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Flowers can come from your garden or a flower shop, whatever works best for you.
Because some of our members and guests are allergic to floral fragrances it is best to plan flowers without fragrances. Thank you.

If you would like to sign up to provide flowers for an upcoming Sunday service or for more information please continue to this  link .
