BRIDGES: Standing Against Child Abuse & Neglect

💙 Strong Families, Safe Children: Raising Awareness Together

During Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month, all Bridges sites came together with a shared mission: to educate, engage, and empower our community to protect our children.

This month, we launched a virtual Community Scavenger Hunt designed to spark conversation and increase awareness around child abuse and neglect. Each week, questions are shared with both community members and Bridges participants, encouraging everyone to reflect, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue. This interactive initiative not only builds knowledge but also strengthens our collective commitment to child safety. At the conclusion of the scavenger hunt, first, second, and third place winners will be recognized at each Bridges site for their participation and engagement.

This impactful effort is being led by our System Support Specialist, Ana Camposeco, whose leadership has helped bring this initiative to life across all sites.

In partnership with the Department of Children and Families, Bridges sites also proudly participated in the Pinwheel Garden Presentation Celebration on April 2nd in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels serve as a national symbol of the happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve, and seeing them displayed across our communities is a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility.

We extend our appreciation to Isis Williams, our dedicated contact with the Department of Children and Families, for her collaboration and support in making this event meaningful and impactful.

Across Palm Beach County, Bridges sites have planted pinwheel gardens as a visible commitment to prevention, awareness, and hope. These displays stand as a symbol of unity—reminding us that when families and communities come together, we can create safer, brighter futures for every child. A pinwheel garden is also proudly visible at Community Partners of South Florida, one of our leading agencies for BRIDGES, further highlighting the strength of our partnerships and shared dedication to this important cause.

Be sure to view the photos below highlighting our pinwheel gardens and community involvement across all Bridges sites.

BRIDGES Sites Unite for CSC Day

On March 26, all BRIDGES sites proudly came together to participate in CSC Day, highlighting the vital work of the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County (CSC) and increasing community awareness of the programs and resources available to local families. In a strong show of unity, coalition members across all sites wore their CSC yellow shirts, creating a bright and welcoming presence throughout the community.

CSC Day served as an opportunity for BRIDGES sites to connect directly with families, share information about CSC-funded programs, and ensure that community members are aware of the wide range of services designed to support children and families. From early childhood supports to family strengthening resources, the day focused on making sure families know where to turn for help and guidance.

A highlight of the day was our partnership with Safe Kids of Palm Beach County, where we provided free car seat installations for community members of Belle Glade. This hands-on service not only supported child safety but also reflected CSC’s commitment to offering practical, meaningful resources that meet families’ everyday needs.

Across all locations, BRIDGES teams engaged residents, answered questions, and built connections that strengthen trust and accessibility. The day was a true reflection of collaboration—bringing together partners, staff, and families to increase awareness and expand access to essential services.

Through outreach, education, and community presence, BRIDGES sites helped amplify CSC’s mission and ensure that more families are connected to the programs that support their well-being and success.

Together, we continue to build stronger families and more connected communities—one conversation at a time.

Built to Bloom: Riviera Beach Community Beautification Project

BRIDGES at Riviera Beach launched Built to Bloom, a community outreach initiative focused on revitalizing and beautifying a home within Riviera Beach’s Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).

This collaborative effort brought together Lowe's Lake Park, Lowe's Royal Palm Beach, the Riviera Beach Police Department Outreach Unit, and the BRIDGES at Riviera Beach Fatherhood Group, The Cave, which played a major role in the project.

The selected homeowner’s front yard was transformed through the planting of trees and flowers, creating a brighter and more welcoming space. A lawnmower was also donated to support ongoing maintenance of the property.

Built to Bloom reflects the power of partnership and community engagement, showing how collective efforts can make a meaningful difference in strengthening neighborhoods and community pride.

BRIDGES New Staff Tour Connects Team Across All 10 Sites

BRIDGES recently hosted its New Staff Tour for employees who have joined the organization within the last 18 months. The tour allowed new team members to visit all 10 BRIDGES sites and gain a deeper understanding of how the program operates as one unified system while serving diverse communities.

Throughout the tour, staff saw firsthand how each BRIDGES site is unique in its approach while remaining connected through shared goals of supporting families, strengthening communities, and expanding access to resources. The experience highlighted the importance of collaboration and strong partnerships in delivering effective services.

Special participation included community partners from FoundCare and the UB Kinsey Community Center, who shared their work and collaboration with BRIDGES. The tour also included the principals from linkage schools of BRIDGES at Boynton Beach and BRIDGES at Pahokee, who play a key role in supporting their respective school and strengthening connections between schools, families, and BRIDGES programming.

The tour reinforced the strength of the BRIDGES network—showing that while each site is distinct, all 10 sites are united by one mission to serve and uplift communities across Palm Beach County.
