Is it just us, or are there roadworks popping up everywhere? It seems every day we take a new route to miss them, only to stumble across a new set requiring another diversion.
Maybe all the utility companies have a load of budget they have to spend before April, but perhaps we'd do better to give up trying to rush in the rush-hour, and instead stay at home and just lose ourselves in the Entangled Round-About Quilt Kit seen above.

The kit, which contains all the fabric for the quilt-top and binding, plus full instructions, is designed by Linda McGibbon and makes up to 76in square.
It's made using the beautiful Buttermere collection from Morris & Co., influenced by Morris's designs and the beauty of the Lake District.
The Buttermere collection has a lovely bright palette in vivid yellows and blues running throughout, evoking the stunning landscapes and interiors found in the area. The fabrics are available now by the metre, and in a fabulous 16-piece Full Collection Fat Quarter pack.

Yes, we know it's a week before Valentine's Day, and seven weeks or something before Easter, but here's a lovely collection we think you'll want to pre-order to get a head-start on your sewing for Christmas.
This Christmas in the Meadow Quilt Kit is made from the new Cotswold Holiday Collection, another set of Morris-influenced fabrics, this time with a distinctly festive flavour.
Designed by Lucy A. Fazely, and measuring 70x82in, the kit contains all the fabric you'll need for the quilt-top and binding (over 11 yards of it!), plus complete instructions, and makes full use of the collection's rich reds and greens, woodland creatures, and florals.

Australian superstar quilter and tutor Megan Manwaring is a big hit with our customers, and on February 22nd she starts her Beginners' Patchwork sessions, which will run on four consecutive monthly mornings and tech all the basics of getting started in cutting and sewing.
But if you've already got the essentials nailed, come and join us on Thursday afternoons from the 22nd, when Megan will be expanding your skills and teaching some new tricks in her Improve Your Patchwork workshop, creating sampler blocks you can use to make a complete quilt, or to create smaller projects such as cushions.
Megan's a brilliant tutor, and her workshops are huge fun, so go on – come and join us.

No, this isn't our Vanessa auditioning for the lead role in The Woman from Atlantis: she's on holiday in Florida at the moment, and on Monday visited the Kennedy Space Center. That reminded her it's only four weeks until we're at the Spring Quilt Fair Duxford, among the planes at the Imperial War Museum, from March 8th to the 10th.
