The most successful entrepreneurs are driven by passion.

Passion is grown out of purpose.

Finding that sense of meaning can be a challenging journey for everyone.

Our BRT Business Adviser, Wendy Wu, has written our latest blog post focused on a recent event we delivered in partnership with Dr. Hock Tan, lecturer in Business Ethics and Sustainable Development/Business Strategy at Edinburgh Napier. Dr Hock Tan introduced a model inspired by the Japanese concept of 'Ikigai' which roughly translates as "reason for being". Three inspirational guest speakers also took part in the event to share their journey and encourage attendees to set out on their own.

Lara Findlay is Director and Co-founder of GearedApp, an Edinburgh based mobile app and web development company. With a background in languages, IT and customer relations, Lara founded GearedApp in 2013 with fellow Edinburgh Napier students and has since grown the company to a team of 15, working with clients from all over the globe.

Lara has extensive experience and passion when it comes to business development, growing teams and developing company culture.

BRT Community Updates

We feel a bit like we know a celebrity. James Marshall, fellow BRT community member, recently participated in Red Bull Amaphiko - a programme helping social Entrepreneurs create innovative and sustainable change in their communities. James was then featured in a video on Red Bull Amaphiko's Facebook page, which is all about his start-up 10T. We obviously had to capture his stardom and product prototype when he visited our Merchiston Incubator for a meeting last week (photo above). But you can check out the video here.

Do you remember our BRT member, Sydney Chasin, from The Lil' Pops?

Wonder how she's getting on over in the USA?

ForceBrands recently showcased the brilliant team behind her business.
