Welcome to 2019! 2018 was a smashing success for our Boys and Girls clubs across all age groups. While the club season winded down in December multiple sides ended 2018 on a high note. Here are some of the key results and tournament victories leading into and over the winter break.

Academy 1 10 Boys U9 (Head Coach Chris Bowen)- First Place in the Club Champions League (7-0-0, 21 points)

Academy 2 10 Boys U9 (Head Coach Eric Tin)- First Place in the Club Champions League (6-1-0, 18 points)

Boys U9 (Head Coach Eric Tin)- Second Place in the Maryland Futsal State Cup

Orange 10 Boys U9 (Head Coach Nicolas Santeriano)- First Place in the Club Champions League (7-2-0, 21 points)

Academy 1 09 Boys U10 (Head Coach Eric Tin)- First Place in the Club Champions League (7-0-0, 21 points)

Academy 2 09 Boys U10 (Head Coach Chris Bowen)- First Place in the Club Champions League (6-1-0, 18 points)

Blue 09 Boys U10 (Head Coach Nicolas Santeriano)-Second Place in the Club Champions League (7-0-0, 21 points)

Boys U10 (Head Coach Eric Tin)- First Place in the Maryland Futsal State Cup

Green 09 Boys U10 (Head Coach Mike Edwards)- First Place in the Olney Bethesda Soccer League (8-0-0, 24 points)

Academy 1 08 Boys U11 (Head Coach Patrick Mehlert)- First Place in the EDP Top Division (8-1-0, 24 points)
Academy 2 08 Boys U11 (Head Coach Simone Mariotti)- Finished second in Division C in the NCSL (7-1-0, 21 points)

Boys U11 (Head Coach Eric Tin)- First Place in the Maryland Futsal State Cup

Blue Boys U13 (Head Coach Bill Moravek)- Second Place in the Super Y League Finals

ECNL 06 Girls U13 (Head Coach David Greene- Third Place in the ECNL Northeastern Conference-South Division (4-3-2, 14 points)

ECNL 06 Girls U14 (Head Coach Dave Greene)- Third Place in the ECNL Northeastern Conference-South Division (3-4-2, 18 points)

ECNL Tempo 00 01 Girls U18/U19(Coaches Trey Livingston and Brian Wiese)- Finished with a 2-1-0 record at the 2019 ECNL Florida Showcase

ECNL Tempo 00 01 Girls U18/U19 (Coaches Trey Livingston and Brian Wiese)- First Place in the Northeastern Conference
Seniors take next step into the college game

Also make sure to mark your calendars for May the 7th as we will be hosting our annual Senior Ceremony. This event is open to all of our BSC players and their families who are graduating from high school this year. Whether you are going on to college, into the armed services, the Peace Corps/Americorps, or entering into the workforce we look forward to seeing you there!
BSC Alums make big impression on draft day!

Last Friday, BSC alums Akeem Ward, Chase Gasper, and Tommy Madden were drafted in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. They join a prestigious list of alumni from the club who have been selected to play at the top levels of professional soccer in North America.

BSC Coaches Spotlight
Meggan Eckert
Meggan coaches four BSC teams: GU8 Academy 11/12(with Christine Thebo), GU11 Academy Blue 08, GU14 ECNL Real 05 (with Dave Greene), and GU ECNL Force 04 (with Shannon Cirovski). At the 2011 Premier Cup her U11 side placed second in the Potomac Division.

She has been a member of the BSC coaching since 2015 and played collegiate soccer at George Washington University. She also has her Master's Degree in Fine Arts from American University ( Bio).
Eric Tin
Eric coaches two BSC teams: BU9 Academy 2 10 and BU10 Academy 1 09. Over the winter his futsal sides won the Maryland State Futsal Cup at the U10 and U11 levels and placed second at the U9 level.

He has been a member of the BSC coaching staff since 2007 and is a teacher in the Montgomery County Public Schools system ( Bio).

PLAYER EXPECTATIONS
Bethesda soccer is a competitive, full season sport, and we expect a full season commitment. For that reason, while we understand that some conflicts arise that are unexpected and unavoidable, we expect players to attend all practices and all games and play for the full season. Poor attendance may result in reduced playing time for your child and could also effect their individual soccer development. Other complementary sports are okay to play, however, players are expected to attend all matches and tourna- ments.

Most training sessions will take place in and around lower Montgomery County; however, there may be additional opportunities to practice on high quality fields outside of the immediate Bethesda/Potomac/Rockville area.
