Returning BSD2 Student Registration for the 2026–2027 School Year

Online registration for returning students in Bensenville School District 2 for the 2026–2027 school year opened on Thursday, April 9. Timely registration is critically important to ensure proper class placement, transportation, and a smooth start to the school year. If you have not yet registered your child, please complete the process as soon as possible to avoid delays or disruptions.

How transportation availability is affected by your registration timing:

  • Students who register by June 2 will have transportation available at the start of the school year.
  • Students who register after June 2 will not receive transportation until August 31.

All registrations must be completed through the District’s PowerSchool Student Information System. Parents must have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account to register.

NEW Residency Requirement for Blackhawk Students:

Students entering 6th grade at Blackhawk Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year must provide proof of residency. Parents can upload documents through the Parent Portal or bring them to the school office.

Behind the Scenes, Making It Happen: Honoring Our Administrative Assistants

Our school community took time to celebrate a group of individuals who often work behind the scenes but make a tremendous impact every single day: our administrative assistants.

Administrative assistants truly are the backbone of our schools. From the moment the day begins, they are hard at work ensuring everything runs smoothly. They greet visitors with a welcoming smile, support students with care and patience, and assist staff with countless tasks that keep classrooms and offices functioning efficiently. Whether it’s managing schedules, answering phones, organizing important documents, or solving unexpected problems, they handle it all with professionalism and dedication.

THANK YOU for all that you do—BSD2 couldn’t do it without you!

BSD2 Students Honored at IPA Recognition Breakfast

Six BSD2 students were recently honored at the IPA Student Recognition Breakfast, a special event celebrating outstanding character and leadership.

Each school is invited to nominate students who exemplify strong personal values and serve as positive role models within their school community. This year, the following students were recognized:

  • Maddux Lopez – Blackhawk Middle School
  • Isabella Pliego – Blackhawk Middle School
  • Daniel Aranda – Tioga Elementary School
  • Emanuel Alonzo – Tioga Elementary School
  • Christian Sosa – W.A. Johnson Elementary School
  • Klaudia Waszczuk – W.A. Johnson Elementary School

These students stand out for their responsibility, respectful behavior, and positive influence on others. They contribute to a supportive school environment and lead by example each day.

This recognition is a meaningful achievement, and we are proud of how these students represent BSD2.

Please join us in congratulating them on this well-deserved honor!

Clothing & Housewares Distribution Makes a Difference for Families

On April 18, our school community came together for a successful Clothing and Housewares Distribution, organized by our Family Resource Center, making a meaningful impact on families in need.

This special event reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the whole child and strengthening connections with our families. Through the leadership of the Family Resource Center, the distribution was thoughtfully organized to ensure families had access to essential items in a welcoming and supportive environment.

This event would not have been possible without the incredible hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to serve 35 families and distribute an amazing 796 items to support our community!

New BSD2 Mental Health Webpage Supports Student Well-Being

Our Mental Health webpage serves as a central hub for families and students to access helpful resources, tools, and information related to mental wellness.

We encourage families to explore the available resources and check back regularly for updates. Staying informed and connected is an important step in promoting a healthy, positive school experience for all students.

Help Us Improve Your Child’s Meal Experience

Our Child Nutrition Department is committed to providing students with meals that are not only nutritious but also enjoyable. To better serve our students and families, we are asking for your valuable feedback.

We invite you to take a quick 2-minute survey to share your thoughts on your child’s dining experience. Your input will help us make meaningful improvements to our menus, service, and overall meal program.

Take the survey here:

https://qrflash.me/a/3qTMRF

If you have more than one student, please complete one survey per child so we can better understand each student’s experience.

Thank you for taking the time to support our efforts in creating a positive and satisfying dining environment for all students!
