MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Dear BSD2 Families,

I want to express my sincere gratitude to each of you. This year, our theme of being ALL IN has shined brightly across our schools, and I am truly thankful for the dedication, partnership, and spirit our families, staff, and students have shown each day. Your commitment to being ALL IN has made a meaningful difference in our classrooms and our community.

This collective effort has fueled our students’ growth and helped make this a year of progress and renewed purpose. Thank you for the many ways you support our mission and one another.

I hope your holidays are filled with peace, joy, and time with loved ones. We are excited to welcome our students back on Monday, January 5th, as we continue to learn and grow together.

Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season!

A Season of Giving: W.A. Johnson Hosts Annual Holiday Shop

W.A. Johnson Elementary held its annual Holiday Shop, giving students a special opportunity to shop for meaningful gifts for their loved ones. Students arrived with their shopping lists ready, knowing exactly who they were buying for. They brought in money from home and took time to examine the different options, thoughtfully comparing items to choose the best gifts for their family members. Each selection was made with care, making the experience both exciting and meaningful for our students.

A huge shout-out goes to our amazing PTA members who made this event possible. They worked tirelessly to organize the shop, assisted students as they picked out their gifts, and even wrapped each present with care, helping to make the Holiday Shop a memorable experience for everyone involved.

A Night of Reading and Winter Magic at Tioga Elementary

Tioga Elementary recently hosted a magical Literacy Night & Winter Wonderland celebration for our HEROES on December 10th, bringing families together for an evening full of learning, creativity, and fun. Students and their families enjoyed spending quality time exploring a variety of engaging literacy activities in a warm and welcoming environment.

Families participated in interactive read-alouds, created their own bookmarks and comic books, and took part in hands-on activities designed to spark a love of reading and storytelling. After completing their literacy adventures, students transitioned into the excitement of Winter Wonderland, where the fun continued with festive activities and seasonal cheer. It was a memorable night that celebrated both the joy of reading and the magic of the winter season.

BMS Students Share the Spirit of the Season Through Music

Earlier this month, our talented BMS Band members brought holiday joy to local residents with two special performances. On Monday, Dec. 8, they visited Castle Towers Assisted Living, and on Thursday, Dec. 11, they performed at Bridgeway of Bensenville. With lively music and festive spirit, the students played a mix of holiday favorites and classic tunes, filling the rooms with smiles and cheer.

We are so proud of our band members for sharing their musical gifts and making the season brighter for others!
