The scheduling window for parents and guardians is now open and will close on the 16th, so please be sure to schedule your conference date and time as soon as possible.

Student Midterm Progress Reports

Midterm progress reports were made available to families on Wednesday, January 28, providing an opportunity to check in on your child’s learning and progress. Middle school caregivers were able to view grades through the Parent Portal, while elementary caregivers had the option to access reports via the Parent Portal and also received a paper copy sent home with their child. Please note that Trimester 2 ends on March 3, making this a great time to celebrate successes and support continued growth.

If you do not have the Access ID or password needed to set up a Powerschool parent account, or if you run into any issues, please contact your child’s school office.

New School Safety Webpage Now Available

BSD2 has launched a new School Safety webpage to make important information easier for families and students to access. The page is available at https://www.bsd2.org/students-families/school-safety.

This centralized resource includes all BSD2 procedures, policies, and up-to-date information related to school safety. Families are encouraged to visit the page to stay informed and familiar with the district’s safety practices and expectations.

Keeping our school community safe is a shared priority, and this new webpage is one more way BSD2 is working to support transparency and communication.

Staying Safe Online This Winter

Use this winter to practice web safety with your child. Cold days mean more time spent on devices, and on popular apps like Roblox. According to the November 15th, 2025 Common Sense Media newsletter, “[Roblox] games [...] that are rated 5+ (OK for all ages) can have kids and adults interacting in the same environment, mature or scary content, and "secret" areas or servers that lead to other hidden layers of the game. Scams and account theft can happen, and kids need to be reminded to not share personally identifiable information in chat.” Have a conversation with your child about how to stay safe on this platform by reminding them to keep information like age, full name, and phone number private when chatting with others.

Chromebook Charging Reminder for Families

Parents, during this time of year, there are computer based tests in school. Please help your child prepare for school by having them come to school with a fully charged Chromebook everyday. Set a routine and have your child plug in the Chromebook every night before bedtime. Setting a reminder on a calendar app can help you and your child complete this task every night.
