Welcome Back — We’re ALL IN for 2026!

Welcome back! We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful winter vacation filled with special moments with family and loved ones.

As we begin 2026, we want to remind our families and staff that we are ALL IN, committed to supporting our students, strengthening our school community, and working together to ensure success for every learner. We look forward to a year filled with growth, collaboration, and continued achievement.

Thank you for being an important part of our school family. We’re excited for all that lies ahead in 2026!

Student Midterm Progress Reports

Midterm progress reports will be available to families on Wednesday, January 28, providing an opportunity to check in on your child’s learning and progress. Middle school caregivers can view grades through the Parent Portal, while elementary caregivers have the option to access reports via the Parent Portal and will also receive a paper copy sent home with their child. Please note that Trimester 2 ends on March 3, making this a great time to celebrate successes and support continued growth.

For Help Accessing Your Parent Portal

If you need assistance with the PowerSchool Parent Portal, please see links below.

If you do not have the Access ID or password needed to set up a Powerschool parent account, or if you run into any issues, please contact your child’s school office

Attendance really STICKS at Tioga!

To celebrate an increase in attendance, Tioga Elementary School students who improved their attendance from the last week of December through the first week back from winter break earned a memorable incentive. As a fun reward for their commitment to showing up, these students had the chance to help tape Dr. Kersten to the cafeteria wall!

DuPage County School-Based Dental Clinic Coming in January

We are excited to share that the DuPage County School-Based Dental Clinic, “The Smile Squad,” will be visiting our schools in January to provide dental exams and preventive services to students who return a completed and signed consent form.

Clinic Dates by School:

  • Blackhawk Middle School: January 23, 2026
  • W.A. Johnson School: January 26–27, 2026
  • Tioga School: January 28–30, 2026

This opportunity is open to all students who submit a signed consent form. Paper copies of the consent form will be sent home by teachers this week.

The dental exam will meet the Illinois state-mandated dental requirement for students in Kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 9th grades. Students who meet eligibility requirements may also receive a dental cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants.

Families will receive a letter detailing the exam results and any services provided. As a bonus, every participating student will receive a free toothbrush.
