District 2 to Honor School Board Members at November Meeting

On November 19, 2025, District 2 Administration will pay special tribute to its board members in recognition of their dedicated service to the community, honoring their leadership and vision that help ensure every student has a strong chance to learn and succeed in this ever changing world.

James Stoltman — President

Mr. Stoltman leads the Board as President, setting strategy and leading governance across District 2. He brings decades of technical leadership from his work at Elgin Community College and deep local engagement, serving on the Bensenville Police Commission and being a member of the Bensenville Community Foundation.

Anita Miller — Vice President

As Vice President, Mrs. Miller brings organizational skill and educational insight. Her experience coordinating the Jr. Bison cheer board and coaching the Fenton Cheer Team allows her to help manage events and programs smoothly. She also contributes to health education by guest lecturing in Healthcare Occupations classes, helping students connect classroom theory with real-world practice.

Victoria Gonzalez — Secretary

As Board Secretary, Mrs. Gonzalez brings strong community leadership and strengthens school–family ties through her work as a Project CARE mentor, her volunteer efforts in band and jazz programs. Her prior service with the Bensenville–Wood Dale Rotary, along with her current role as Vice President of the Bensenville Community Foundation, deepen her connection to the community.

Jacqueline Dye — Board Member / Youth & Policy Champion

Ms. Dye leads our advocacy and youth-focused efforts in District 2. As the founder of Generation Next Empowerment, she helps at-risk youth with education, career readiness, and housing support. She uses that experience to shape board policies and student programming. She also represents the board on policy matters as the board delegate through IASB.

Robert F. “Bob” Laudadio — Board Member / Facilities & Capital Planning Lead

Mr. Laudadio directs the board’s oversight of facilities, infrastructure, and capital projects. With a background as Director of Buildings and Grounds, he brings hands-on knowledge of budgeting, contractor oversight, and long-range campus planning to ensure our facilities meet present and future needs.

Milton Mercado Jr. — Board Member / Operations & Community Liaison

Mr. Mercado supports the board in operations, logistics, and community relations. As a longtime resident, event organizer, and member of the Bensenville Police Commission, he brings grounded insight into the needs of students, families, and neighborhoods.

Maria Cristina Reyes — Board Member / Student Life & Family Engagement Advocate

Mrs. Reyes strengthens our board’s connection to student life and families. With experience coordinating educational programs, after-school clubs, and collaborating with the Blackhawk PTO and park district, she brings practical insight into what students and parents need daily. She also represents the board in NDSEC (North DuPage Special Education Cooperative).

First Trimester Report Cards Coming Home After Thanksgiving

As we wrap up the first trimester, families can expect report cards will be sent home after Thanksgiving break, no later than the end of the day on Tuesday, December 2. These report cards provide an important opportunity to review your child’s progress and celebrate their growth so far this school year.

Teachers have been working hard to assess students’ academic achievements and classroom participation across all subjects. We encourage parents and guardians to take time to go over the report card with their child, discuss strengths and areas for improvement, and set goals for the months ahead.

Parents will be able to access grade on their Parent Portal by 3pm on Monday, December 1st.

Public Announcement: 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Grant Opportunity

Bensenville School District 2 is excited to share that we will be applying for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Grant. This grant will serve all three school buildings, allowing us to expand learning opportunities for our students and families beyond the regular school day.

Our application will be submitted by November 24, 2025, and we expect to learn whether it is awarded approximately 90 days after submission. We will keep our families informed as we move through the process.

About the 21st CCLC Grant:

The purpose of this grant is to:

  1. Provide academic enrichment opportunities, including tutoring and academic support, to help students meet challenging state academic standards.
  2. Offer a broad range of services and activities such as expanded after school activities: arts, counseling, health/fitness, literacy and math programs that complement the regular school day.
  3. Engage families through meaningful opportunities for involvement in their children’s education, including literacy and related educational development activities.

This program is designed to meet the goals of supporting the academically focused after-school and extended year opportunities, helping our students meet state and local performance standards in a safe environment, while strengthening family engagement and learning at home.

We look forward to the possibility of expanding these valuable opportunities for our students and families!

Families worked side by side with students on fun, brain-boosting challenges. BSD2's Official Communication Channels

Effective August 15, 2025, Bensenville School District 2 discontinued using Facebook for official communications. This decision was made because recent changes to Facebook’s policies no longer provide the level of privacy and security our community requires.

From this date forward, all official district information will be shared through our most secure and reliable channels:

  • Website: www.bsd2.org and individual school webpages
  • Bi‑monthly e‑newsletters delivered via email

Meanwhile, updates, photo galleries, event reminders, and engaging content continue to be published on our social media platforms:

If you need help accessing any of these platforms or signing up, contact our Community Relations Coordinator, Tania Gomez, at 630‑766‑5940 ext. 1122 or via email at tgomez@bsd2.org.
