Where:   Online; students are strongly encouraged to attend the group session in 2124 Lee Bldg.

The University of Maryland subscribes to the    SPINPlus funding database       which holds over 400,000 funding opportunities to individuals and organizations. Users are able to customize searches and set up alerts to meet individual funding and eligibility needs. Space is very limited so students are asked to attend a group session in the Graduate School Conference Room (2124 Lee Building).

In honor of American Indian and Alaska Native heritage month, Insight into Diversity has compiled a list of select books written by contemporary voices in American Indian and Alaska Native literature

The Critical Race Initiative, MICA, and the College of Education Graduate Student Organization are hosting a film screening and panel discussion of the documentary The Pushouts.

This film tells a story of how Victor Rios, a high school dropout, Oakland gang member, and three-time felon by age 15, turns his life around and is now dedicated to empowering young people. 20 years later Rios–now an award-winning professor, author, and expert on the school to prison pipeline–rejoins his old mentor to work with young people who have been pushed out of school for reasons beyond their control.

Following the film, a panel discussion will be held with representatives from the University of Maryland, The Latin American Youth Center, and the Young Women's Project in Washington, DC .

Join us as we welcome the start of November in honor of Native American Indigenous Heritage Month and decolonize our education through interactive stations. Snacks and refreshments will be provided !


The office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy (MICA) will coordinate the inaugural Latinx Graduation Celebration to be held specifically in conjunction with the winter commencement season.This ceremony will be held on December 16, 2019 in the Atrium of Stamp Student Union.

To deadline to register is November 14, 2019.
