Dear Parents,

Welcome Back
January's activities are already well under way. We had our Kindergarten Santa Lucia celebration this morning and our second Open House is scheduled for next Thursday evening. We end the second quarter on January 18 and we end the month of January with Catholic Schools Week. We will have a full schedule of Catholic Schools Weeks activities out to everyone shortly, but we will be starting this year with a special parish and school event.

On Monday, January 28, Patrick Henry Hughes and his father will be visiting the school in the afternoon to speak with the students. They will return in the evening for a special presentation of the movie about Patrick called, 'I Am Potential.' His story is truly remarkable and sends a strong message about the dignity of life, every life. He was born without eyes or the ability to walk, yet he was a participating member of the Louisville University marching band for five years. Please make a note of the date.

We got a present from a parent! For Christmas, we got a new sign for morning drop off. It says, 'If you've made it this far: unload.' This is a reminder to parents that you do not need to be all the way at the gym door to let your children out. If we unload multiple cars at a time, we can move cars through more quickly. Once you are safely on the blacktop, you can let your children exit. Please also have them exit on the school side. They should be able to slide across seats to get out so that they do not have to walk in front of any vehicles. Please look for the sign starting next Monday.

Faithfully,

Chris Kelly
