Dear Parents,

Fore!! Monday is our annual golf tournament. Since you will be up late watching the Nationals win it in 5 on Sunday night, wouldn't it be great to have the next morning to sleep in and roll over to Kenwood for lunch and a 1:00 shotgun start? Current forecast...68 and mostly sunny...can't ask for a better day to get out with some friends and chase a ball around the course.

We have gotten our sponsors but we could really use some more players to make this thing an even bigger success. If you haven't signed up yet, please click here to do so. Hope to see you out there!
Please CLICK HERE to see a letter that I read to all of the students this week from the superintendent about threats. Your child's safety continues to be our top priority.

Please be reminded, school will be closed Friday, November 1 and Monday, November 4 for faculty professional development and retreat.

Halloween Parade
Thursday, October 31
2:15pm on the blacktop
Please join us for the Annual Halloween Parade! The parade lasts about 15-20mins. Students in grades K-5 may bring their costumes to school and change before the parade. Middle school students attend, but do not participate in the parade. K-5 classes will have a small Halloween celebration in the classroom before or after the parade (check emails from room parents for details).

Students may accessorize their uniforms with Halloween flair (socks, tights, hats, headbands, necklaces, etc.).
It is not a dress down day!

Friday, November 8th from 1:30 - 4:30pm
Monday, November 11th from 8:30am - 1pm
Parent/teacher conferences will be held Friday, November 8th, from 1:30pm - 4:30pm and Monday, November 11th, from 8:30am - 1pm in 15 minute time slots (Friday is a 12:30pm dismissal and there is no school on Monday).  Once again, we will be using PickATime, an online scheduler, to schedule the conferences.
The online scheduler is open and will close on Thursday, November 7th. Click here to sign up. Parents received an email on Wednesday, October 23rd with instructions on how to schedule a conference.
***K-5 conferences are with the teachers and parents ONLY (please do not bring any K-5 students or younger siblings to conferences). However, middle school students are expected to attend the conference with their parents.

There is no Aftercare on Friday November 8th!

The HSA is offering free childcare in the music classroom during conferences. This service is for parents to use during their conferences only (every student must be picked up at dismissal.) No sick children or children in diapers.

For assistance scheduling conferences please email Caitlin Hall at

Thank you for your continued support!

I'm excited to tell you about Crayola ColorCycle - an amazing program devised to repurpose used markers rather than sending them to landfills!
Since 2013, the program has repurposed more than 70 tons of expended markers in the United States and Canada. The most advanced plastic conversion technologies available are used to make wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles as well as to generate electricity that can be used to heat homes, cook food, and power vehicles.
The students and teachers at Blessed Sacrament will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. Please help by sending in any used markers you may have around the house, even non-Crayola brands! Highlighters and dry erase markers can also be included. I will collect the markers before each class or they can be placed in the drop-off box located on the "Forgetful Table" in the lobby.
Thank you in advance for participating! With the help of parents like you, the Crayola ColorCycle program can continue to keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year.
Remember, don't throw out that used marker-ColorCycle it!
