Dear Parents,
Open House was a huge success! Despite having to reschedule, we had a large crowd and a lot of interest. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to provide hospitality and give tours; I have received nothing but positive feedback. Reminder, if you are interested in enrolling a sibling for next year, please do so now. We have generated a lot of interest through the Open House and we will start looking at new applications in the near future; we want to make sure that we account for all sibling applications first. The deadline is approaching.
Thank you to everyone who made our Greg Gannon school day collection so successful. We are pleased to report that here at school today we collected 6952 cans of food! This includes 1927 cans collected from the faculty alone and shatters our previous Friday records. Seventh grade won the grade level competition (1502) and Fifth Grade staff team (including 5th teachers, the ladies who lunch, Angela Marshall and Julie Meade) won the staff competition (456)....but most importantly the winner of the school competition between BSS and HR is...drumroll please...the BS BULLDOGS! (was there ever any doubt?). Thank you to EVERYONE who contributed but particularly Mack Smith in 7th grade and Jack Connolly in 2nd grade! If you have any cans left over after donating today, please be sure to put them out for the families to collect and bring to GEICO tomorrow. Let's keep pushing to make this another successful year for the Greg Gannon Food Drive.
Bulldog Brew is back! Please consider grabbing a cup of coffee at the morning drop off to help support this effort. See the Weekly for more information.

A Message From Your  Home & School Association

Dear Parents,

Christmas break is right around the corner! Please consider donating to the Faculty & Staff Christmas Fund by December 7th. I've received a few questions about why the gift fund closes so early when school doesn't dismiss for Christmas until the 21st. Because of rules surrounding the giving of monetary gifts, the HSA must purchase VISA gift cards instead of writing checks. In order to have the gift cards ready for our beloved faculty and staff we must first collect the money using the HSA's Square account, then we have to request a check from Square, deposit it in our account, have a check written and signed, and then one of our dedicated parents takes the money over to the military commissary and purchases 60+ gift cards. By purchasing the cards at the military commissary we avoid the fees associated with purchasing VISA gift cards. The turn around time between when the fund closes, clearing the money, and purchasing the cards is tight, this is why we close the fund 14 days before school releases. However, because you are such an amazing parent community and always generous, we are able to raise the funds to give our faculty and staff the Christmas bonus they deserve.  Thank-you for your partnership in this.

Faculty & Staff Christmas Fund - 7 Days Left!
You've got just 7 days left to do yourself a solid and  cross the faculty and staff of BSS off your Christmas list by donating NOW to the
Faculty & Staff Christmas fund!

It's an easy way to treat and thank all of the BSS faculty and staff.

But hurry!
The Faculty & Staff Christmas Fund closes on
December 7th!

Did you know...
...the Benefit is the HSA's biggest fundraiser. It's true! And because of generous benefactors like you the Benefit is able to offset the costs of throwing the event, which means more money into the Benefit profit fund!

Please see below on how you can help our hard-working and talented chairs this year, Celine Delany, Katie Krantz, and Ashley Allen. These ladies need YOUR help to make this event the most memorable night of the school year!
- MARCH 9, 2019 -

We hope you will join us  for the Olympic-themed BSS Games!  Every year the benefit is an incredibly fun party and wonderful way to support our special school! The money raised will improve school facilities and technology, enrich student activities and provide tuition assistance to BSS families.
  • Volunteer to help with this event. The Co-Chairs are Ashley Allen, Celine Delany, and Katie Krantz. Contact one of them TODAY and ask how you can HELP!
  • Sponsor the event! Your family, your business, or your employer can donate money and sponsor this fabulous event.
  • Donate an item or a service to the auction. Be creative! Some families get together and host "sign-up parties."
  • Becaome a Benefit Benefactor.  Details below...
Become a Benefactor and support the Sister Rose Tuition Assistance Fund, which helps Blessed Sacrament School families experiencing hardship with temporary financial aid so their children can continue to attend BSS. 100% of the Benefactor funds go to help BSS families in need. Thanks to the generosity of last year's Benefit Benefactors, the HSA was able to give $40,000 for tuition aid disbursement!
