Dear Parents,

Catholic Schools Week (interrupted by the weather, which is pretty much what we expect every year) was a great success. The weather cooperated for our events on Monday. School starting on time on Tuesday allowed for the benefit kick off and Open House to go off as planned. Students were 'appreciated' with no school on Wednesday and the faculty was treated to a fabulous breakfast by the HSA on Thursday, and had extra time to enjoy it with a late start. Regarding the events on Monday, Patrick Henry Hughes was truly an inspiration. I am glad that the students all got to see him and I am sorry that more parents were not able to attend on Monday evening. While the movie was good and gave a more complete picture of his life, I would have enjoyed more time having a Q and A with him and his father and listening to his vast repertoire of piano music. Their story is compelling.

Next week, on Friday, we will be having our first International Day. We have a large number of families who have volunteered to display items from over 20 countries. All of the students will be visiting the auditorium during the course of the morning. Please be sure to ask your child about it next Friday when they get home from school.
Finally, remember to put February 12 on your calendar for an overview of ALICE, our new school emergency protocol. We will be presenting a brief overview of the program in the auditorium at 7:00 PM. The teachers are already well into training and we will begin presenting it to the students by the end of the month.

Re-registration reminder: We have begun accepting new students for next year. Please be sure that you have re-registered your child and registered any siblings to assure yourself a spot.

Faithfully,

Chris Kelly
