Belize resumed travel with the launch of its Exhale Campaign. The campaign messaging focuses on Belize’s reopening while showcasing our destination assets via Out Of Home (OOH) activations, direct marketing and digital and social displays. In addition, videos were created reflecting Belize as the ultimate place to breathe easily and exhale. These videos can be found on our marketing channels and as components of our paid support and content partnerships.
Paid Support

To ensure eyes are on the Jewel, Belize has prioritized its paid support in our leading source market for both consumer and trade. Travel trade digital partnerships in November took the form of customized e-blasts with a reach of 71k with travel trade media partners such as Travel Weekly and Travel Age West. Sponsorships and presentations as well as expos were executed virtually with other partners such as Travel Agent and Travel Pulse.
Consumers were targeted digitally via programmatic displays and video buys, customized e-blasts, homepage take overs and content partnerships with prime media such as Sojern, Afar, and Trip Advisor.
Paid Social continues to drive traffic to key landing pages such as the Health and Safety page of targeting our active US flight markets.

The BTB continues to encourage all tourism stakeholders to embrace the Gold Standard program, and takes this opportunity to remind that additional marketing opportunities will be afforded to those entities who are certified.  

Congratulations to all our industry partners who have achieved Gold Standard certification! To date, a total of 356 properties and 204 tour operators and 12 tourism entities have committed to align with the program and are actively working to exceed travelers’ expectations on safety and health protocols. 

We continue to highlight all Gold Standard entities on our social platforms; here are a few examples:

Live inspections for the South American Market where Gold Standard properties inspired potential travelers with live tours of their properties.
ACTA Travel Industry Summit

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) held its Travel Industry Summit on November 12-13. The two-day summit held discussions on the impact of COVID on travel agencies and travel agents globally. Other keynotes also focused on reshaping the relationship between travel agencies and travel suppliers and insights for post-Covid marketing strategy. It also featured a trade show networking session and brought together 2,600 Travel Advisors from the ACTA network.  560 advisors visited the Belize virtual booth to either chat with our Belize delegates and download brochures and other digital resources. 

Belize Webinar Series - Canada

On November 17, BTB in collaboration with DCI, conducted Belize webinar #4 to travel advisors based in Canada. The webinar is part of a series which serves as an inspiration for Belize’s amazing product offerings for Canadian visitors, and provided information on Belize’s pandemic response, Airport Safety Protocols and enhanced health & safety protocols for hotels and restaurants. We were joined by a BHA representative who shared updates on the Hotel Industry and addressed questions pertaining to accommodations. The webinar also provided an opportunity to promote the Belize Travel Specialist Program. 63 travel advisors from Canada registered for the event.
