JUNIOR CONGREGATION
Save the date for Family Shabbat
January 11th 10AM-12PM

We will begin the service together @ 10AM, break up into groups for Torah Study/Service, and end the book of Berseshit together! There will also be programming for preschool aged children and babysitting for our littlest ones!

Shabbat dinner begins at 6:00PM, followed by Shabbat service and Consecration at 7:30PM.

RSVP's for the dinner and service are requested by Tuesday, January 7th.

GIMEL CLASS TRIP TO JRA
Sunday, January 19th religious school students will participate in our annual Mitzvah Day in honor of MLK Day of Service. Gan-Bet students will engage in activities at BTBJ throughout the morning. We are excited to share that our Gimel Class will have the opportunity to pack and deliver boxes at the JRA!

MECHINAH CLASS MITZVAH DAY COLLECTION
The Mechina class will be doing a special project on Mitzvah Day, Sunday, January 19 th . If you would like to contribute, please have your child bring items in Tuesday, January 15 th or Sunday, January 19 th .

  • Hand cream or body lotion
  • Hairbrushes
  • Word Find books
  • Pens & Notepads
  • Sticky pads
  • Magazines with pictures such as People and Food magazines

BETTER 2 WRITE ESSAY CONTEST
Dalet Student s, please be on the look out for instructions regarding the Better 2 Write Essay Contest as part of the intergenerational Better Together program we have been running all year. All students are required to turn in essays. The first draft is due no later than February 1st. And one winner from each congregation will receive up $$$ toward Jewish camp or an Israel program!

Thinking about Jewish summer camp for your child? There areTWO great ways to save on the price of camp this summer — and applications are open now!

ONE HAPPY CAMPER GRANTS
If your child is ready to try Jewish overnight camp for the very first time, you may be eligible for a One Happy Camper incentive grant.
  • First-time campers who attend overnight camp for 12 to 18 consecutive days can receive a $700 grant
  • First-time campers who attend overnight camp lasting 19 or more consecutive days can receive a $1,000 grant!
Just register your child for camp ( click here to see all eligible overnight camps ), then  apply for your grant here .
 
NEEDS-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DAY AND OVERNIGHT CAMPS
Is your child a day camper or returning to Jewish overnight camp? Then you may be eligible for a needs-based scholarship.
  • For campers ages 5 to 19 (by June 1, 2020)
  • Campers must live in one of our Jewish Federation’s five counties (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia) and identify as Jewish
  • Eligible campers may receive between 10% and 30% off the cost of camp!
Just register your child for one of  these eligible overnight camps  or one of  these eligible day camps , then  apply here  before January 31 st  (for overnight camp) and March 6 th  (for day camp). And voilá! Best summer ever — and an experience that can light up a kid’s Jewish identity for a lifetime.
