BTEA NEW YORK ELECTS NEW LEADERSHIP, FIRST FEMALE OFFICERS IN ITS HISTORY


BTEA New York elected a groundbreaking group of four new officers for 2022-2023, shattering glass ceilings by electing its first two women officers in the history of the organization. New York’s largest contractor association elected: Pat A. Di Filippo, Executive Vice President, Turner Construction Co, as Co-Chair; Peter Vrankovic, President of KSW Mechanical LLC as Co-Chair; Kristine DeNapoli, President of KND Electric Contracting Corp., as Treasurer and Maureen Henegan, President of Henegan Construction as Secretary. DeNapoli and Henegan are BTEA New York’s first women officers.

BTEA NEW YORK OP-ED: Here's how to kick start construction and get New Yorkers back to work


Louis J. Coletti, President and CEO of BTEA New York, released a Crain’s op-ed outlining seven steps to revive the construction industry. “We can eliminate unnecessary building costs; streamline approvals and permitting; and prioritize the type of construction that post-Covid New York will desperately need, such as housing instead of office space,” said Coletti.

FAST 4 INTERVIEW WITH DASNY


BTEA New York’s Senior Executive Vice President, Donald Ranshte, had the opportunity meet one-on-one with Reuben R. McDaniel III, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY). Ranshte asked four important questions that will give BTEA New York contractors a better understanding of working with DASNY.

BTEA NEW YORK AND BTEA NORTHEAST PARTNER IN APRIL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN


During the week of April 25, BTEA New York and BTEA Northeast are building a bridge to SAFEBUILD. April is Mental Health Awareness Month. BTEA Northeast will host its annual building trades National Recovery Week to raise the profile of substance use disorder. Both associations are coming together on April 28 during SAFEBUILD to have a multi-regional conversation on best practices for handling worker impairment.
