BTEA is participating at the Building and Construction Trades Council (BCTC) Annual Conference in Florida, from March 7 to March 12. BTEA members, will be on hand engaging in meaningful discussions on the importance of working together.

BTEA Supports 9-Point Legislative Package to Mayor’s Capital Task Force

The Mayor’s Capital Reform Task Force was convened to conduct a top-down review of how the City builds public works and recommended revisions. The Task Force’s nine proposals include adopting alternative delivery methods, allowing the city to use wraparound insurance programs, and increasing the small business purchase threshold, among other proposals.

Mayor’s Program for Housing and Jobs is ‘The Right One’

“Mayor Eric Adams has set the right tone and vision for rebuilding New York City’s middle class,” writes BTEA New York President Lou Coletti in a recent Op-Ed piece published in the Gotham Gazette, February 27, 2023. “The Working People’s Agenda [the Mayor] outlined in his State of the City address should be welcomed by all New Yorkers.” Coletti went on to say that the success of the Mayor’s plan requires collaboration. “Sitting in the same room working toward a common goal, developers, contractors, building trade unions, and community leaders can achieve the mayor’s goals and make New York City affordable and livable again for families.”
